Hello. I had the two bonnets open last night and was staring at my Cusco strut brace on the Euro and wondered if anyone had attempted to wedge a strut brace in an XR6/F6? Or do they have any sort of stock strut brace? (Please, forgive my ignorance) :3gears:

No need to mate with our cars.

I cant explain it that great but its something to do with our great suspension setup Ford use in their cars unlike the older front end setups in other brands (Not saying their crap at all thou).

There is a thread somewhere explaining it.

You could always design something there for looks.

Cheers

Adrian

basically our cars are stiff enough in the front end to not need one...

And it would be pretty hard to fit one with the computer and overflow bottle where they are...

That and the standard crossover gets in the way too, you may be able to make one that braces against the firewall, but it would be a big task to engineer it right.

I'd love to have one, but I think the bigger sway bars can give you a similar effect

It would look sweet but there's just too much sh*t in the way!

It would have to have a weak point in between the engine bay somewhere without a brace. I'd imagine it would make it a lot stiffer.

the advantage is with our cars that the struts are so close to the firewall, so it is very rigid, its just a shame that the factory use crappy oil filled bushes in the front end and cheap wheel bearings from china!

Cheap wheel bearings from China  Thanks Senna_T you have just ceased my wonderment of why some of my cars rumbled at around 70kph on a smooth surface, 284 does it and it annoys the hell out of me. I am booked in for the control arm bushes next Thursday so I might just as well do the bloody wheel bearings with something of quality while they are at it. The Amex will get a belting me thinks
