Hey guys a work mate of mine has one of these units

http://www.digimoto.com/home.htm

Just wondering whether you think it will be compatible with my RSPEC. Apparently it doesn't work on VS V8 or V6 VX/VY/VZ but works with Gen 3 comms.

Easy way is just to try it I know but my car is at the doctors at the moment.

These type of things wouldn't void warranty would they?

Firstly, I'd jump on their forum (or send them an email) and ask if it'd work on the Falcons. My first impression is that it would but it might not be able to read all the codes.

It wouldn't void warranty, no because all you would be doing is reading/logging data off the ODBII port.

Yes it will work, I run an elmscan 5 serial connector, I have digimoto and pcmscan software and I find that pcmscan is the better one to use, it's datalogging is much better and after sales service is second to none.

You will be able to read generic obdII pids but not Ford enhanced pids.

So things like

Coolant Tenp

Inlet air temp

timing

short term fuel trim

absolute manifold pressure

Vehicle speed sensor

rpm

will all be available.

you could buy a ford flash 2 tuner, get some tunes to go with it and have full access to every data logging info that the tuners have.

Would love to but I want to keep warranty for as long as I can stand it. This unit is just sitting around so I might as well try it.

cool I will have to give it a go next weekend when I get the car back. Will I be able to read boost?

It will read absolute manifold pressure. So given that 100kpa (1 BAR) is atmospheric pressure then 200kpa will be (1 Bar of boost)

So the gauge will read under 100kpa when the car is in vacuum and over 100kpa means you are making boost.

Cool it will be interesting to see what it can show me. It could get added to my future aspirations for a carputer through the ICC.
