Thanks for the kind words guys. This forum is a great community with very supportive members (for the most part). The support does help ease the pain.

How are you mentally mate? I think I would be on the verdge of suicidal if that happened to me... Makes me feel sick seeing nice cars shunted.

I'm gutted, no doubt. A lot of time and effort went into getting the car where it was and I was extremely proud of it. But as many have pointed out, perhaps there's something bigger and better on the horizon. Blown FG would be bloody great!

Geeezus Phil! Haven't been on for a couple of days and this greats me. Sheesh - bad break mate - a dead heat like that is always well planned - not. Thank the good lord you're ok - that's the upside.

Another GT? Naaah - I can see a T coming on.... you could have a go at running up your version of the V W technology using both the Turbo and now orphanned Blower. :buttonit: Hope it all settles quick.

It is declared a repairable write-off.

So, am I correct in thinking that a "repairable writeoff" means the car is structurally sound (ie, no bent chassis/pillars, roof kinks, etc, etc) but it is simply not economical to repair from the insurers point of view?

Cheers

Dan

That's it. Repairable as opposed to Statutory which can never go back on the road.

For them it's just a numbers game.

Bummer Phil, was hoping it was repairable for you, though on the other hand not sure you'd want her back after a hit like that.

One quick question though, when a car is insured through the likes of shannons/just cars and all mods are advised, when written off, do they pay you what the cost of the car + the mods, or just the agreed value?

WOW Phill Im glad like everyone your OK. Those who know you would understand that you are a very experianced driver and very capable . that's why these things are called accidents. :cleanhouse:

I cannot believe it is written off WTF the roof is not creased and the damage seems related to removable panels ?

PS do you want a yellow phoon cheap (For sale ATM)
