I will give that hose you put in 4 wks tops.

Then the hose bursts and your fuel rail loses pressure while you are up on boost you will lean out .

it will drive ok of boost

been there done that, pissed me off big time

still allowing the the Ford "swirl pot" to move freely

The swirl pot isnt designed to move freely up or down.. Its on a slide to cater for the differences between the depth of the tank on sedan vs ute.

Your fuel like will come off as others have been saying..

Great then this design will work in a ute as well. :innocent::funnydance:

I think you've missing everyones point...

in time you will see what happens to your "design", regardless of hose choice

Maybe you are missing the point. I certainly will be changing the hose, as well as the hose clamps.

Isn't the sender unit for fuel gauge in the swirl pot assembly? So if it doesn't need to move up and down, there is no need for the loops and 1 x 300mm length of Gates will do the trick then?

The sender is on the side of the cradle.

It's spring loaded to ensure it's always on the bottom of the tank.

One length of the Gate's hose will be more than enough for a sedan. It's just enough for a ute.

The ute and sedan units are different.

THAT is the exact point people are trying to get across..

the loops are the problem. REGARDLESS of fuel line type you use, garenteed problems will arise down the track. be it 1 week, or 1 year..

the sedan and ute swirl pots are the same. the differences are in the ute, the swirl pots sit deeper in the tank, and the sender is mounted to the swirl pot instead of in the tank on a sedan

Trying to get some Gates hose I've been told Gates has none until April. So Mackay make some but they don't plan on making any in the near future because of low demand. Goss also make it and I've managed to get some. Good thing about Goss submersible fuel line is that it comes in either 500mm or 2 metre lengths. About the same price as the Gates.

Ironically you only need about 2inches of hose...

I would have left the original return rather than cut it. but you need to pull it out of the swirl pot or else you cant split it apart.

Also, I have the correct crimps so you can use the original ford plug. Saves having to use those press joiners.. I would hate the idea for it to come off inside the fuel tank
