Its on a slide to cater for the differences between the depth of the tank on sedan vs ute.Your fuel like will come off as others have been saying.. I think you've missing everyones point...in time you will see what happens to your "design", regardless of hose choice

I certainly will be changing the hose, as well as the hose clamps. Isn't the sender unit for fuel gauge in the swirl pot assembly? So if it doesn't need to move up and down, there is no need for the loops and 1 x 300mm length of Gates will do the trick then?
Adam Here since the start... It's just enough for a ute.The ute and sedan units are different.

REGARDLESS of fuel line type you use, garenteed problems will arise down the track. be it 1 week, or 1 year.. the sedan and ute swirl pots are the same. the differences are in the ute, the swirl pots sit deeper in the tank, and the sender is mounted to the swirl pot instead of in the tank on a sedan

So Mackay make some but they don't plan on making any in the near future because of low demand. Goss also make it and I've managed to get some. Good thing about Goss submersible fuel line is that it comes in either 500mm or 2 metre lengths. About the same price as the Gates.

I would have left the original return rather than cut it. but you need to pull it out of the swirl pot or else you cant split it apart.

Saves having to use those press joiners.. I would hate the idea for it to come off inside the fuel tank
