I had the BA Mk 1 which was delivering round town of 13-15l/100km and 10.5 on the open road.

I was also driving an old 94 4.0 N/A fairmont for a while and that was delivering 14-15l/100km as well.

Motto of the story, by as new as you can get? Surely the 6sp auto's must be a decent improvement over the 4spd.

I bought a BFII XR6 Turbo 6 spd Manual in January. Had done around 3000k's and was sitting on late 17/100km's.

I drive in heavy Melbourne city traffic daily (60K rtn trip) and until last week had it down to low 16/100 km's in city traffic and between 7's to 9's on open country road.

I have now down almost 11000Km's and have been experimenting with 95 Octane with 10% Ethanol Blend in contast to 98 Octane and found that if I drive like a 90 year old, I can get the consumption down to low 15's. But that's a waste of car.

Would be interested in getting a custom tune, and also whether anyone else has tried the Ethanol blend?
