Anyone else go.

Towards the end of the day this rock up on a trailer. Talking to the owner/driver who had just gotten out of hospital 30 mins before with tags still on bruise few cuts and a broken leg but somehow no neck injuries. Was doing a powerskid on friday and the right rear wheel sheered all the studs off half way up the straight.

Have a look at the drivers seat:eek:

Some random dude had some footage didn't get a close look but it was a f*cking hard hit and damn lucky not to roll.

Excuse the quality of a couple of the pics as they were taken on my mobile because of the surrounding crowd. Easier to use then a digi cam.

Got a couple of vids of the power skids but haven't had time to compress them yet.

Shame to see the car absolutely totalled you gotta have balls to turn a landrover defender into a drag car. The Blower had a crack through it as well.

You talking about the VU or VY SS ute. There was one in the drift event that tank slapped the portable barriers they put on the edge of the track.

Was also a KE55 Corolla that did a stupidly large power skid but failed to stop at the end of the straight, ran through the trap along the wall and the car was close to a foot narrower on the passnenger side.

Yea it was the red one.

Couple of rotors had close calls with the wall as well. One even had hatch open as he spun and stopped a foot from the wall  . Great comedy act that one.

That Landrover is from the A.C.T, it is Chad's car.

He regulary runs 9's at WSID. He only just put the blower on it, just before Summernats.

Real shame, but im sure he will be back.

Old Chad the plumber. Good to see he is ok!

A family friend of ours built that car from the ground up - but sadly he has since passed.

RIP Stewie

On a lighter note, it was a good weekend! It was my first venture to power cruise and I really enjoyed it. Some really tough cars up there. My mate had his car entered and had one of the pit lane garages which was a good little base camp for the weekend.

I saw a couple of F6's/XR6T's entered. I'm presuming a couple of people from here were there. There was pair of blacktrack T's that were quite good, a CV performance XR8 and a bullsh1t quick blue F6 – amongst others.

I made it there, I had the light blue T. I made it to the third round of the drags which I was happy with. But then missed second gear against a black xD drag car, was never going to win but I was sure as hell going to push it to as close as I could get!

I had a ball on the weekend and will for sure be entering next year :)
