141 is an an odd number to just "make up". I would be betting they can prove it when you get to court.

that's 60k over so expect atleast 6 months without a license, probably more.

Sorry - have to agree with the majority on this, you were speeding, and street racing. You say the other guy was driving like a dick, and you wernt?

We have all exceeded speed limits, done stupid things - and I have probably gone over 100 in a 50k area I am sure over the years, but... you were caught, and with modern laws I would be expecting to have the car impounded (which I would hate more than the loss of license) and lose your license. Dont blame the cops - that is what they are supposed to do. Accept it and move on.

like the title says

I was ONLY DOING 110kmph

There are your key words, even if they tacked on an extra 30KM/h to what you where actually doing, you where still over by 30KM/h.

Bad luck mate, no lecture from me, you did get caught and that is the difference between you and the other blokes lecturing you. Get a lawyer give it a go and see what happens.

In my case I was caught 50 over on a 100k road. I got a $500 fine. But... a week later the law in NZ changed - instant confiscation of car and loss of license. I have since slowed down quite a bit- and use the cruise control. I thank myself lucky that I didnt do that a week later.

So... I was no different, but..... it was my fault, not the cops, not someone else.

However.... I do agree the cops can sometimes inflate figures, I have been pulled over and asked to see the radar - and was told he didnt get a lock, and I was sure that I was around 10k lower. Would I bother arguing? Nope. Take it on the chin, buy a bike and spend your money on a circuit car (in NZ you can race without a road license).

Cops dont always inflate the figures. I admitted fault and apologised once and the copper reduced the figures for me so I didnt lose my licence and only copped a fine. Now that's a good bloke.

Agreed I was at an RBT on friday night & the p-plater behind me had 1 too many ppl in his car. By the looks of things they were working out who was going to drive the extra passenger home rather then fining him. :Sug1:
