that's terrible,... that's part of the reason for buying a NEW black car - so that its not covered in swirl marks!

I'd insist that if its not 100% swirl free then you want your money back. I hope they just don't put some polish stuff on it which fill in the swirls so once you take it home and give it a few washes they start to come back.

I had a mate who purchased a black pursuit ute, and his paint was screwed from new, and they ended up re-painting the car for him (well that's what he told me, I dont see him very often).

Guaranteed that happened at the car yard, when they got some idiot to wash the car with a friggin broom or something! f****ng car yards!

yep I coudnt believe it.......I hope they dont damage the paint or do some deep cutting. What really is so fustrting that I wont know whether they have removed it or covered up the swirls like you said. Who knows..!! I've asked Dr Detail for a full polish/seal when and if I get it home. They have really burst my excitment bubble of driving away in a BRAND NEW CAR................!!!

Sorry to hear the bad news mate. Coming from expirance my old Ford which was a BA XR8 Ute had swirl marks really bad which was caused by using an Enjo car clove. I took it to a local detialer.

They said the swirl marks will always be there no matter what. They gave the car a go over and when. I picked it up looked great they also told me after about 4-5 washers the car would look the same as before with all the swirl marks back. I traded the car in before it started to look to bad again and brougth another Black car........WTF

So once with swirl marks always with swirl. But black is a beautiful colour when clean.

Hope this helps mate and good luck with the car.

ANGEL#3, not true if you get the buffer out with an appropriate cutting compound. Provided the swirls aren't too deep they can usually almost be eliminated with the right techniques...

but the fact of the matter is its a brand new car it should be completely swirl free

Thanks for the info fellas..I'm still in 2 minds. This has been the car of my dreams ever since the F6 came out, but I was waiting for the right one, then the r-spec came out and "bingo" I was in love..!!!!

angel #3 I'm not sure if the swirl marks will always be there. XF falcon is true in saying that if its buffed out correctly by a very good detailer I should never see them ever again. it just looked like it came from a stupid cafe car wash or something. I feel so angry and upset. If the car dosent come back 110% they can keep it....!!

Can you cut back the paint in a a car that new? Build date was 10/07

I do a lot of showcar polishing and it should come out very easy.

I have been to FPV and they do not leave the factory like that,it happens in the car dealers.

This one had major swirlls from the dealer nothing a day wont fix.
