I have a flash tuner which when using the performance tunes the auto shifts noticeably harder due to increased line pressure. I like this from a performance point of view as the shifts also seem quicker, but I assumed this would kill the box quicker then having the standard shifts with lower line pressure.

I was reading something here the other day which said that increasing the line pressure and making the shifts firmer would increase the life of the box... Does this sound right? Or is it just a load of BS to try and sell more of their products?

firmer and quicker shifts preserve the box

so its a good thing that all good tuners will do with the 4 speeds.

mine is set up that normal D mode is the factory settings for shifts and pressure

and P mode has greatly increased line pressure, shift speed and it doesnt go into overdrive at low speeds so its on boost

if the shifts are firmed via software changes, it does not increase line pressure in gear.

In the software, if you tell the ecu there is more Torque occuring it will increase line pressure
