I'm with you on this hypnodoc. Drive Expensive Daewoo ute's for work on occasions and cannot see what people see in them compared to the fords.

What I believe is that everyone has their own opinion about any car. I was constantly told "dont buy the ford" why not? "because its a ford!". Its the same stuff, if you removed the badge nobody would care.

I had half the people saying dont get a ford they are crap, get a holden, and the other half saying dont get a Expensive Daewoo they are crap, get a ford.

It all comes down to your personal opinion in the end (and of course any big known problems). I personally am only not a fan of commodores because most of the people who drive them believe holdens are gods machines and I always get the "oh yeah my VS berlina will piss all over your xr6t".

alot of my mates are driving commodores.it seems every second car around freo is one.so after I had a small amount of work done to my ute,(300+rwkw)I thought I would let a mate who has a ve gts take it round the block.when he came back all he said was f***ing hell.he cant believe how hard it goes and he,s now trying too figure out how to get his gts too go as hard.

Falcon/Late model camira they're both poorly built Aussie cars, they are NOTHING on the Euros, despite what wheels would have you believe - "the new Late model camira steers better then an E60" my fuking arse!

I drive a Falcon because it's fast and great value for money, plus I can't afford a decent euro.

My dad owns a 07 VE and I own an 07 BF. Both have 19-20K on the clock and I've driven both a little bit so its a fairly easy comparison and to be honest they are both poorly built aussie cars. My mums 06 Corolla is of much higher build quality than our cars. Shame its stupidly slow though!

Both drive about the same (not as good as my 10 year old wrx with minor suspension mods BUT that's not comparing apples to apples is it). The build quality is rubbish in both cars (if you spend 50K on a brand new car you SHOULDNT have to put up with clunky drive train, warranty work every 2 months, head lights that wont work properly or a rubbish hand brake / glove box etc).

While I can only really compare similiar "performance" models im sure a bog stock base model BF is just as bad as the same model VE.

Still for 50K+/- you dont have a lot of new performance car options that make a good family car, boat tower, daily driver, weekend track car etc.

I've always liked fords (hell im a 25y/o male with a ford bed-spread lol) but I only chose the XR due to bang for your buck in the modifying stakes. One of the WA guys ran a 12sec pass with less than $850 spent last week. Cant argue with that can you! Can a SS+ do that on street tyres? No way!

Just spent 2 days in an Avis VE SV6 in central NSW. it had 5700 klm on the clock and what a piece of crap, same old torqueless rattly engine, very poor vision front, sides, and especially the rear. Same gearbox whine and rattling engine, bad road noise and a small cramped front compartment, useless steering wheel control layout.

And as for considerable handling improvements over the VZ BULLSIHT. The only good thing I can say abouit the thing was it has a decent sized boot. Anybody who thinks these are a better open road car than a BF is having themselves on. Motor & Wheels must have copped a sling or they employ idiots and biased liars as test drivers. Buggered if I can figure oiut where the so called billion dollar investment was spent

I wasn't comparing the SV6 with my phoon or even an XR6 Turbo. I have a BF XR6 NA and a BF SE on the fleet and both are better cars than the SV6 IMHO. I also agree that for the price both the ford and Expensive Daewoo have poor build quality, and the only comparison I can make between any HSV and the phoons I've had is to watch them shrink in the RV mirror. To make it 100% clear I was comparing the rattly SV6 with a much smoother and quieter equally well handling, and better visioned BF XR6 NA.
