Gear was fully engaged and it flared a couple of hundred rpm when I gave it full throttle then I got a slight whiff of the clutch…….the car only has 6500klms on it….power wise car is completely stock, has not even been edited yet. This is bloody ordinary! Whats the chances of getting this sorted under warranty?

I am not too keen on taking in to Dominelli Sutherland (my local) and dont mind a drive if I can get a courtesy car.

Do you still want us to pull it out?'I said 'I drive this thing to work and back every day and it sits on cruise control for 3/4 of it's life...Drop the box and fix it.'So they did and replaced it without question. 'ooh ohh sorry James the pressure plate failed.'I was thinkin, 'yeah...that's right f*ckers...I know how to drive. I don't slip the clutch when I change gears...'So just cruise down there and politely mention that it's slipping under load and they'll go and test it. If they can't fault it, take one of the mechs for a drive and do this:When in 2nd or 3rd gear doing 60 to 80 kph, put the clutch in, put your foot down till it gets to 5 or 6k rpm then dump your clutch and keep your foot flat to the floor. It'll either slip or stick. That's ya best test...Good luck!

The slipping is worst in tall gears as boost comes on - so.... take it along open road - 90 kph in fifth - and floor it - allow boost to get up to max. Should be worst still in 6th. My car ended up doing it in 3rd through 6th at full boost and once in second up a steep hill as boost came on.Once it starts slipping - it will normally get worse gradually.I was surprised how little marking there was on my clutch surfaces when I took it out - one little high spot seemed to be the slipping spot. The new clutch (XTC Performance / Wog clutch) has been very good - no slip, shudder etc at all.I believe you can get better pressure plates and clutch plates for your F6 set - maybe you should do this now - then be ready for lots of power? This would save you having Ford dick about with your car - and then have to change it again later anyway.
