What gauges are they Coley?

Do you have a night shot with the dash lights? What's the colour difference like?

They are drift iridium digital gauges which you can buy from autobarn. Boost was $250, afr and oil temp were about $160-$180. However autobarn did me a deal since I bought three gauges and the xforce tripod off them so I saved a fair bit. Pic was taken off my iphone which has a sh*t camera

fitted my tripod and guages today and a big SHOUT OUT!!!! goes to Newl for his excellent writeup helped me no end

just thought id throw in a couple of pics of the "sandwich plate" install to help a little more

the first photo is just a "mock up "and not how the plate and sensors actually fit refer to the later photo for how it is assembled

should really do a little step by step for "sandwich plate"

its really quite easy to fit as was mentioned in newls write up you need to put a couple of wires through the bung in your firewall (I have oil pressure/temp and boost) then jack the front of your car up relatively high is best so the oil in your pan goes to the back (LESS SPILAGE)

remove your oil filter and clean the faces (you might like to take this oportunity to change your filter)

set up your "sandwich plate" as you see it in the 4th photo with the sensors on the flat edge facing the top of the motor

remember to use thread tape on all the fittings including the plugs but be sure not to cover the sensor ports

I connected my wires before fitting the plate to the engine but its personal preference

you will need to connect an earth strap from the pressure sensor aswell I drilled a small hole in the chassis rail and screwed it to that

fit the plate and tighten adaptor firm but not over the top

fit oil filter

test it out

all should be well with the world

Hey Guys,

I'm interested (and can finally afford finally) in getting my tripod and gauges for my turbs.

I've been looking at the Pole Position Tripod kit for $590 - But have just passed by amazon.com and found the following:

Autometer COBALT 6121 US$66, 6103 US$75 and 6131 US$92 with free US delivery. I was thinking of using the www.priceusa.com service to get them delivered here costs around US$43 + commision %5 Total US$289

So total AUS$335 (using exchange rate at 83c) + $155 for tripod from pole position Total AUS$490

Im tossing up whether its worth the effort to get the cobalts this way or get the xforce's in the kit. Has anyone got a price using the gauges I've mentioned, bought locally??????

id prefer the cobalts, but if the prices are similar then I'd certainly take the xforces.

Thanks in advance guys.

Jman
