Hi guys,

I watched my ute drive away with it's new owner yesterday and I did feel a little sad about it.

I returned it to stock except for the valve springs, 2600rpm converter and APS CAI.

I kept my flash box and 968 injectors and sold all of my other parts. I also kept my gauges and carputer setup.

Since the release of the FG I've been trying to decide what to do. Wait and get a FG or look for a good deal on BF MkII. So after working out a deal for a new BF MkII I've decided to take it. I've saved a lot compared to what it will cost to get a FG to the same spec.

My new car is a BF MkII XR6 Turbo sedan in Silk. It has the new body kit with matching 18's, dual zone climate control, ZF auto, tinted windows and a towpack. It's scheduled for build in March so I'm hoping I'll have it by this time next month.

I'll order the other options I want through spare parts in the coming weeks such as boot liner, boot scuff guard, floor mats, fog light covers, pollen filter, bonnet protector and mudspats.

I loved my ute but there's a few things I won't miss...

- The 4 speed auto after the dramas I had with the rebuilders. Just on that, the reason why it wouldn't start in park all the time was because they hadn't fitted the selector cable properly. :banghead:

- The road noise.

- The fit of some of the exterior mouldings.

I had a lot of problems when I first got it back in July '03 which were eventually all sorted out and it's been I really good car, with good economy ever since.

I'm looking forward to getting into a sedan again after 5 years away from one.

:spit:

Congratulations Adam, nice colour.. So it will have the Grey outs on the bumper etc? The wheels look nice on them as do the Grey outs on particular colours.

Nice to get the dual climate as standard, did you go for leather??

Yes, it will have the grey bumper and skirt inserts. I think it should look good with Silk.

I can't stand leather so no I didn't option it.

It also has the anologue clock but that will have to be removed to fit the gauges.

I have almost the same on order as well - ZF auto, silk paint, standard 18"s, dual zone, colour ICC. I did opt for the leather and for VDO sat nav as well.

Obviously, I can't wait to get it - But be warned!

I've been waiting since 18th December.

The dealer said it should be coming up to Sydney this coming week. :spit:

Congrats Adam. :tonguepoke:

Can't believe nobody has posted that you're an idiot for not waiting for the new model! :msm:

Are they still actually building?

I'm a little surprised no one has said that myself.

Getting a FG with the same specs would've cost an extra $10k I estimate. That just isn't worth it IMO.

I got the last XR6T allocation. In fact the car was already allocated to a Ford executive, but since customers get preference over employees he/she now has to pick something else.

I originally had done the deal on a late '07 car as they have a factory discount of $2k. However there were no '07 cars to be had so my only other options were to forget it all together or get a March '08 car and lose the factory discount.

Congratz Adam :), Sounds Like you got a good deal :)

Now wait for the sleepless nights before you get it!

Are you going to put the Carputer in the Sedan?
