Speed alarm:

1 turn off the radio

2 hold the tab behind the left volume tab on the steering wheel in for a second and it will turn on

3. Select your spped alarms speed by using the volume controls

A small S in a circle will be visible on the right hand LCD display

When you talk about lag a lot comes back to how you want to define the term.

In the absolute strictest sense every turbo motor has lag because it takes some time for revs to build enough for positive pressure to become available. It just cannot happen at idle speed.

However in the everyday world, lag is generally referred to as the period of time that, while the engine is off-boost, the car performs slower than a comparable atmo version, ie due to lower compression, less advanced timing or whatever other reason. This was a very noticable difference on early turbo cars and as technology has advanced so this difference has lessened.

To test if your turbo has lag simply line up beside a NA XR6 for a few acceleration spurts from both stationery starts and rolling starts and see if at any time he gets the jump on you - I bet it doesn't happen - therefore IMO the XR6T DOES NOT suffer lag.

I've lined up against AU's and they get the jump on me almost every time! This never happened in the old XR8. The XRT is no V8 off the mark, and that's why I think those that come from a V8, like me, notices the lag

Want to have the urge of your old XR8 like me,Go for a cruise down to Vic and see APS to fit a unichip.I have retained the standard exhaust,Airbox etc and have a T with V8 grunt down low with better fuel consumption.You think your T is quick now what till you have one of these things fitted,Just ballastic.

There are three things you need to do.............practice, practice, practice. :D

As sixfan says 3.5krpm drop de clutch and change .........just before 6krpm, lag becomes........leap :thumbsup:

But, having said that the instant leap of the XR8 is nice B)

I agree although we did not go to APS but we got Chiptorque to work there magic with there xcede system plus 3.5 inch exhaust,ss induction cold air intake,what a difference it has made,still some more tuning to be done but 215rwkw just goes like a rocket now love it. this with sss trans :thumbsup:

I find it most interesting that the power figures on your car are exactly the same as mine when modified but I have retained the same exhaust etc.The standard stuff they must be fitting be Ok to an extent.I was advised the next stage to 330kw will need the exhaust and injectors upgraded but very impressed what these guys are doing to these cars.Drivability and fuel consumption plus shifting of the Auto is all so much smoother as well.Probley the way it should of been in the first place.

For any of you guys pondering the thought of modifying,Just do it and enjoy.

ASNU I agree what is being done is great car drives like a rocket,yes the exhaust is great on the car as standard but the 3.5 inch allows the power to come on sooner and last longer,our next step is injectors as they can not flow enough to increase the power any more.The exhaust allowed us to get the same power as with the standard exhaust but at 1 pound less boost.with new injectors we will be able to boost it more.
