Blitz in japan make this - is there any reason why it wouldn't work on our cars? I beleive it uses OBD2 and CAN systems to relay the information

N.B. Unless you can read japanese, you will need to translate the above link!

The connector in the fuse boxed used for edit and WDS is obd2. The scan gauges work through the OBDII port, i dont know if a japanese OBDII scanner/gauge would work tho. How much are they Seena?

From memory you need to have brand specific PIDs? for ODB2 to be translated correctly.

Essentiall it decodes the signals to the relevant function to be displayed. While some of the functions may display, items like Turbo boost and other model specific items may not work.

hiddeous - they cost around $550 (55,000JPY)

Dags - cheers

ZAP - You're right some functions may not work, but there are optional sensors you can buy at around $100 each.

Does anyone know how much the Livewire system was?

I got an english copy of the Blitz catalogue when I was at TAS, and it states that the system is compatible with Toyota and Nissan CAN systems. This one seemed fairly cheap so I wanted to get some peoples ideas on whether it would be viable or not.

I'll try and scan the catalogue tonight and post it up

anyone know if I can do air fuel through the obd2 like a wide band setup ?

yup.

Use an OBD2 to Bluetooth converter. I this $10 eBay one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Super-Mini-ELM327-V1-5-Bluetooth-OBD2-II-Car-Auto-Diagnostic-Scanner-Android-OS-/191015708505?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c796c6759 or similar.

And the excellent $4 Torquepro app for Android phones (not iOS) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torque

I use a window suction mount / arm for my phone, and have set up a bunch of custom 'gauges'.

The OBD2 + TorquePro app combo will replace most gauges, including O2
