Well the crash repair place just rang me to tell me that it is fixed! Apparently the bottom bolt that holds the headlight to the body wasn't even there! Lazy ford/fpv f*cks! I wonder what other bolts are missing . . . . . . . . . .

SCARY!

I haven't seen the car yet as I don't go back to adelaide until next Thursday but I would imagine they would've only had to have taken the bumper off. The bloke said that they also moved the IC piping about 4mm down to make sure it clears the headlight.

Hey mate,

Noticed the same thing today on my R-spec F6..

While I was in the dealer to setup a time for a few other things this coming week they said it will be a warranty fix up...

We had a look at 3 other FPV's and low and behold.... ALL THE SAME!!!

Looks like a common problem, which looks like it lies with the headlight... fingers crossed its a quick fix and they mentioned as 4 of their cars on the showroom floor are all the same, the GM will be calling Ford and having a chat! (have built a nice little rapport with the GM over the past few weeks) hehehe

Hey Phatal, glad it's only a bolt, something that can be expected from Ford Q/Control. Looks like a new, not well trained, headlight and bumper fitter must have been put on the production line halfway through the build.

The service and the sales manager at Titans checked about 20 new BFs with me the other day and all were fine, so is the Silhouette we bought, you gotta really look to find it but it's a pisser when you know it's there, especially when you think it should have been picked up when they lined up the light beams. I'm off to London on Tuesday so they have it for 10 days.

Good luck getting it fixed guys. Hopefully I am happy with mine when I get it back. I must remember to get them to realign the headlight beams before I pick it up.

Hey guys,

Picked up the broom broom from my dealer today following drop off to get a few post delivery things fixed.. one of which is/was the bumper....

While they havent fixed it yet - they had their panel shop guys take a look (lucky my dealer has a ford backed panel shop onsite), and advised it is clearly an issue!

I mentioned that it was the same in a few of their showroom GT's and F6's also.

Fingers crossed its all fixed when next in the shop!

(Guys didnt seem to ask any questions about anything I asked and wanted fixed- was all good and easy going, two thumbs up!!!)

Well guys I have my car back and it looks to be all fixed!! I haven't had a close up look to make sure they haven't left off any of the little scrivets that are under the wheel arches or anything like that but as far as the headlight goes it is all good! Very happy with the car now as I can finally stop worrying about it and just enjoy it. My dealer has been pretty good about it all and it was all done under warranty so I haven't paid a cent. When I take the car in for the 3000km inspection I am getting them to replace the centre console lid as well as mine has a small bump under the leather but they were happy to do that as well.

I can't believe how fast these cars accelerate especially for a six. These things modified must be damn scary to drive. It's just awesome how you can loose traction with the traction control on without really trying they must be interesting in the wet.

Mine will light up the bum and go sideways in the dry with no T/C on at 100kph if I bang it to the floor. First time it scared the hell out of me as I wasn't expecting it. 333 went hard but it never did that :innocent:. Hopefully when I get back from this cold foggy London place next week my H/Light will be all fixed up.

As a speed comparo I was (a passenger) watching TV in the back seat of a Merc S500 doing 140 MPH down the M1 on cruise control in the rain about 2 hours ago, it was whisper quiet and felt like it was doing about 60. Now that is car, even it it does cost 5 times more than an R Spec :dontknow: Oh well maybe one day

sh*t mate what gear does it do that in? Auto or manual? I haven't really pushed mine to hard just yet but it can loose traction pretty easy but don't know about at 100. Would be awesome though. I haven't really driven it in weather under 32 degrees yet which will make a difference.

When I was picking up my car they had a GT Cobra in the show room and it had the same headlight problem.

EDIT: Just realised that your car isn't stock. Now it all makes sense! Thought I might have had a dud there for a second.
