I am always greatly amused by those who claim the first release of a new model will contain problems. Well sh*t, lets go all buy AU MKIIIs!

Roll on BG!

Dewd

My '04 T has plenty of evidence of probs in a MkI - I have learnt first hand to stand back and wait till a MkII.

Reminds me of the story of the two bulls on top of the hill looking at all the cows in the meddow below. The young bull says to the older bull "lets run down there and f^@K ourselves a cow, the old bull turns to the young bull and replies "lets walk and f^@k ALL the cows!"

A little wisdom and patience goes a very long way.

As much as I want 1 now, I'm waiting for the twin turbo V6, because I'm ready for a change, and I reckon it'll be even better in the long run in terms of modding/power

I just find it pointless getting the exact same engine with a few different plastic bits on the body/exterior

Nailed it buddy MKII for me as well for the exact same reason. Bring on the V6TT

Some massive assumptions being made that all because Ford will use a V6 in 2010, that there will be a TT variant. Maybe for a super FPV that's out of all our price range.

its not that hard to achieve, TT means 2 small turbos, not 2 big turbos, anyone ever seen the turbos on a RB26 or 2JZ engine? they are about half the size of the 35/40

Same platform so just more lipstick on same old pig.

And the so called old pig will hands down be the best driving Australian large car ever. Holdens brand new platform was barely any better than a 5 year old BA, which was really a modified AU platform from 10 years ago. Just because its new doesn't make it good, but its hard to call it an old platform when everything is new from the diff forwards. Isn't that new enough for you.

Why would would you wait for a turbo V6 from the USA that no one will anything about. How to tune them? How to make them hold to gether for

400RWKW+ it take years of work to get back to were we are now

Having an alloy block will weaken it, the yanks had to put a cast iron block on the Mustang Cobra when they added a supercharger because the blocks kept cracking during development. Doesn't bode well.

I guess its not to everyones liking, but what is?

Anyway, I was just reading the press release regarding the engine and its seems they are using more powerful coilpacks, hopefully these will be interchangeable with the BA/BF motor

The new coils are bolted down onto the rocker cover, not pushed in like they are now and held down with the coil cover. The are also shaped different, they are rectangular at the top, not round.

why launch a new car that looks the same as the 6 year old that it replaces?

don't get me wrong I love the look of the BA/BF but why not be bold? I know the VE copped some slack over its styling but at least it made a statement.
