It would be a big job to swap them over, because you would need the new rocker cover, coil cover, coils and the wiring loom would need new plugs installed as the plugs that go onto the coils is different. Plus who knows what else.

Considering the good price I paid for my 2007 run-out model Rspec BF and that the new FG's will be full price for sometime I just couldn't justify the money to upgrade it. I also thank god I'm not one of these people who's been mind washed by society/marketing to always have to have the newest/latest things either :innocent: .

Who gives a rats ar$e if it's the new model  - it has to prove itself first just like the BA Typhoon did in late 2004. Look at the new WRX - it used to be the king of the road and now I wouldn't let my mother drive the thing :nono: . When the Typhoon came along in 2004 it effectively (in anothers words) was like the new kid on the block going up to the school bully and knocking him flat on his back  . Alot of V8 drivers have come on board, and personally I think it's a whole market segment (40-70K) that's missing. There's no denying that the BA/BF Typhoon is a great car and those who are lucky enough to have one shouldn't feel like it's done and dusted. Give the car some respect for what it's achieved in 3 years and wait for the FG to prove itself, and it probably will in all honesty (looking at the specs)...

I'll be watching Ford/FPV so see what they come up with for the post FG generation machines.

the only thing the FG typhoon has to prove to anyone is that it looks good. FG has only built on the BA/F legacy with a new skin and some new technology that is already being used successfully in other models (mondeo and territory)

Due to not owning a t I have never posted on this forum b4. I have been waiting for the FG to be released before updating my current ride and have been hoping that the FG would address the issues that I had with the BA/BF series that stopped me buying one even though I am a massive fan, especially of the modded ones  . I checked out the FG XR6t at the melb motor show and was massively impressed. I now have renewed confidence with Ford as the car looks great and does not have a dodgy fitting plastic interior inside like its Expensive Daewoo rival. Looks even better in the metal than in the pics. Well done Ford and I will be signing up for a new XR6t as soon as I decide on a colour :blaah: .

I was pretty keen to get one before I saw one in the flesh, I have to say I'm not really a fan at all any more. VZ to VE was a completely new car in every way but with the falcon they have just taken a BF and made it more smooth looking. I also realized the reason for the raccoon eyes, without them the FPV's look pretty much like the XR's. Unless something dramatically changes with the next model apart from the engine I think I'll be looking elsewhere for my next car.

Now where did I put that flame suit....

Guys, wait until you see the cars next to a BF or BA, trust me it will change your mind on how similar they look. And at the end of the day, if they did something drastically different everyone would be saying that they stuffed it up!
