For XR6T owners it seems the new one is better in all respects -better looks, better standard specs.

For XR6T and F6 fans power gains are easy.

So what if the new F6 has 300kw, current T's and F6's are pulling 300, 400, 500+ kw - for those who want power - just pick your tuner.

For F6 buyers it comes down to a question of do you like:

Gnarly Beast?

or

Smiley racoon.

The new coils are bolted down onto the rocker cover, not pushed in like they are now and held down with the coil cover. The are also shaped different, they are rectangular at the top, not round.

yes do you think they would be interchangeable?

Whats the increase in FG coil voltage over the BF?

Hi first post here,so hi to everybody,

ive been reading your posts for abuot 3 months( this is a top site).

Why does everyone assume the V6 will be twin turbo?

:tonguepoke: Exactly.

I'll be looking at a MkII in 2010/2011 but if it turns out to be a TT V6 I think I'll be leaning towards a XR8 or GT.

1. Because Ford have already produced a TT using the same V6 we're getting.

2. On a V6 (or V8 for that matter) it's easier to have a turbo on each bank of cylinders than plumbing it all into 1. This doesn't rule out supercharging though, but realistically (as Toyota is finding) supercharging doesn't make a very reliable daily driver.

3. All of the reports from journos, and hints from Ford themselves have indicated a TT for the V6.

As far as the strength of an alloy block goes, the GM V8s don't seem to have too much trouble with mods.

I dont recon there will be much to worry about regarding issues with the MK1 FG. The BA ran the first Turbos and the first of this generation engine, so yes they had their problems. But the T has been running long enough for Ford to make sure they will have no issues in the new one (at least mechanically). I would much rather go for the inline 6T, and I am going to get one as soon as they start taking orders. With regard to a V6T in series 2, nobody really knows how it will compare to the current IL6T, better the devil you know than the one you dont, plus I wont be able to wait 2 years... :)..

I think I might get a roll of masking tape, a spray can of flat grey primer, a couple of sh1tty lookin door handles and turn my BF into an FG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Boring Ugly and Unchanged. Ooohh nooo ford dont dare step out of your comfort zone. Its about as big a change as an xD to an XE. Hopeless!!!

Are we really talking about the same car. Its more then just cosmetic changes. Interior as well.
