The rod you have circled isnt the fault. The heater module is in the picture which can be the problem but the main cause of heater not working is the mixer shaft gear snaps off causing flap not to move. The heater module turns the shaft by the gear at fault.Turn the control from hot to cold and vice versa in a quiet place but wait 10secs before going back and forth. If you can hear the module working when you turn the control from hot to cold the shaft is broken. I could do it for you if you were in Melbourne LOL. The main cost is labour as the shaft is cheap. Takes about 4hrs to do.

well I might try the 1300ford option on Monday. Seems dodgy to me that a new car has no heater. fingers crossed they are having a good day when I call :)

Ive done dozen of airmix shafts, very easy job if you wanna tackle it yourself, aslong as you have a mate to lift the dash out with...working with an apprentice ive had the job done in under an hour.... but for first timers id give yourself 4-5 hours.... do a search, im sure I wrote up step by step instructions on here at one stage

OK, So called 13FORD this morning and spoke to a pretty helpful guy.

turns out my local Ford dealer has to start a "work ticket"( or something like that) before Ford corporate can look at approving it etc. Something about having the diagnosis on record. Lucky they remember me from the other week, and are just going to create the ticket without seeing me again.

Now its with Ford corp to see if they will fix it out of warranty... FINGERS CROSSED!

will have to see if Allan is keen once sh3p gets word back.

The update that's isn't an update

hadn't heard anything so decided to call 13FORD again, turns out the guy looking after my "claim" is away today.

Asked for any updates on my claim, was told the last contact was when I called on Monday to tell them that Ballarat Ford was going to raise the required work order and that the warranty clerk from Ballarat would be contacting them ( or available for contact)

So I got off the call, and phoned Ballarat Ford to find out why they hadn't called yet. Turns out their warranty clerk is away sick and has been all week.

And my request is sitting on his desk. He doesn't have a replacement, so just have to wait for him to go back to work.

Im not upset yet, people get sick, fair enough. But starting to sound a little amature-ish.

Im going to conitue to play happy customer however till they tell me to f*ck off and fix my own damn heater!

Don't worry about it. Freezing to death is less of a hastle than letting the Fraud monkey's touch your car.

I had a problem with the heater mid 07. My local dealer said they had to reset the heater module and it started working fine, problem was the CD player stopped working and wouldn't eject my CDs. They then had to replace the entire ICC. It took them 2 months to get a new ICC, a futher two months to send the old one off to the supplier to have my CDs removed, only to have them all returned cracked, gouged and scratched beyond use.

The dealer eventually stopped returning my calls about what they're going to do with the CDs. I currently have had Fraud Australia working on the problem for a few weeks. The latest is they're waiting to get advice from one of their managers.

And these f*cking incompitent tools want me to considder buying a new Falcon off them

OK,

So here is the final outcome.

After a lot of delay for no real reason I have a result.

Now keep in mind.. My T is a 2003 June build that has seen 108,000km.

Ford came back saying that they do not have any liability to assist in the repair of the vehicle, BUT have said as a token of "good will" they will share 50% of the repair bill. FYI the official $$ amount quoted for the repair by Ballarat Ford is about $500. so getting it for $250 isn't as bad as it could be..

hope my experience helps!
