It is most likely the link rod to the heater flap there is an upgrafed version that ford have.

It is also a dash out job to do.

dash out hey. sounds like a sh*t job, damn.. is this heater flap inside the firewall?

used to be easy access to the rod in my old vr, could hook it back up in 2 secs. is it directly behind the icc?

I have the same problem.

Having just seen that pic and being out of warranty.

Has made me feel very Ill

I heard that the replacement part is a different model number?

is that therefore a design fault that I could argue should be fixed at no cost to me.......please?

quote was around $1200 to fix

Keiran,

how far out of waranty is you car? A bloke at work got his done out of waranty after ringing 1300ford and complained that his 4year old car didnt have a heater and his wife and newborn couldnt use it in winter because of this and they fixed it free of charge. If not pm Allan and have a chat about getting the dash out/ He reckons its not as bad as it seems and i recall him telling me he can have it out in about and hour.

My understanding is the mixer shaft strips. I believe the picture you have shows the lever on the end of the mixer shaft.

I'l have a read of my manual and see what i can find

Luke
