I wasn't expecting much, Fords marketing is never as good as other companies..

and well I wasn't disappointed, but I also wasn't that excited by it.

I dunno they really need a new marketing department, cos It didn't make me want to trade in my car for a new one.

Maybe the RTA will use the new FG for their next anti speeding adverts, with a bit of tyre smoke.... now that would work for me :)

Looks like everyone wants to see the ads where they talk about all the features and benefits. This is the cornerstone of almost all car ads and it obviously hasn't worked well for Ford. I think the ads get people thinking, the cars look good in them, all you need these days is an internet connection, anyone who sees the ad can simply hop on the net and find out more, there they would find out all about the features and benefits and the great reviews. Anyone looking for a car you would imagine would do this research. I think the ads will get people wanting to know more, and that's all they need to do I recon.

On another note, what I find funny is that I have seen Toyota ads with the slogan 'tha game has changed' .... well it sure has dikbrains, Ford and Expensive Daewoo dont use the 'Game' theme anymore time to come up with a new slogan.

I think they're OK....not sure what all the fuss is about.

Like mentioned previously they can't advertise performance due to the new code of conduct, so they have to do something different. And what's so special about holden's current advertising? It's all just bloating about turning 60 or some crap, nothing real exciting there :sleepystuff:

A good marketing campaign stirs interest - can't deny they haven’t achieved that.

They are useless adverts. I've been asked by my wife, and three people at work:

"Does Ford have a new car, what is a G6?"

You can't reinvent your badge names, then expect everyone to know what the heel it is you're advertising. After years of useless advertising, why hasn't anyone cleaned house in the Ford marketing department?

Tmac - notice how people are asking you about the ad? that's what they are designed to do, get people interested. They hear about a new car and they will want to know what it is about

I think it's a good way to start advertising, get people interested, if anyone was in the market for a new car I'm sure they would check it out. But they should change to a more exciting add soon, as people learn what G6 is it will become boring. Just as it's boring for most people here that already know what a G6 is.

Now I see why they dropped "Fairmont", to target new types of people which they have to do in order to sell more cars.
