Early on, the XR8 was still the most popular, but by BA mk2 the Turbo was gaining ground in sales, as soon as the T was available with the ZF 6spd, it outsold the XR8 hand over fist! It was the same with the F6, as soon as the auto became available it sold twice as much as the GT/GT-P

Although I am probably the most enthusiastic member in regards to selling these things (well duh) Most dealers were only allowed to order one or two for their first allocation!

Fair enough, from the way he was going on it sounded like it was more than just one or two.

The dealer I know work for had to new fg falcons delivered today so I thought I would give you all my first impressions.

The cars that were deliverd were a xt and a G6.

On first look they both looked a lot smaller but as you looked at them beside a bf that impression is wrong.

I have not driven them yet will do when we pd these for sale.

The first thing I did was to check interior room as I am 6 foot 4 and this is going to be the one thing that us big guys will look for.

I first sat in the drives seat of the g6 and set the seat and steering wheel to my liking and than I left it there and sat in the back seat and found I could sit behind the drivers seat easierly so it can take 4 6foot 4 people with ease.

It had about an extra inch of room compared to my ba xr6t.

As for the rest of the car ford have done a great job on both exterior and interior finish and looks.

Just some tech info.

They now have 3 auto transmissons in the model line up.

The old 4 speed is still in the lpg powerd vechiles.

A new 5 speed auto for the stanard trans models.

And a revised version of the six speed auto in the higher spec models including xr range.

I will up date my views more soon.

Ian

Thanks for that Goldie.

I was speaking with a sale guy at Denmac whilst looking at a new Turbo they had out the front. Other than a few things I already new, he told me that all the 6 cyl engines now rev to 6500.

Maybe you can check this out whilst giving a newie a very fast run-in....

Mack.
