Final power figures are to be confirmed.Boss engines stays much the same made in Australia as this is the most cost effective way for FPV.The cost of assembly of a Boss in Australia is very cheap. As far as I know, to support the extra power, there were a number of internal changes made. The GT gets a twin throttle body.True !!I asked about oil pump gears on the Boss to the knowledge of the source of this info, the gears remain unchanged.Don't know. The bulge stays as it’s needed to close the bonnet.True.The bad news for Boss lovers no Supercharged GT, the cost is too high.Looked at imports from the States cost still too high.True. There are two test engines at Prodrive, but the cost is too prohibitive. Nearly ten times the cost of the standard Boss !!The Falcon Orion will have a new setup on the front end, the rear end will have a wider track and it’s based on the Territory setup.True.Some half decent shockers absorbers for the FPV cars too.Don't know. For those of you who haven’t read our F6/XR6T Forum.Orion Typhoon will be 300 kw from the factory that’s up 30 kw, the turbo will have some slightly smaller parts inside to reduce the turbo lag.News to me.The turbo cross over pipe is gone; the turbo compressor housing faces up instead of down.True.The pipe out of the housing goes up has like a U turn in it and goes across the front of the car.True. Nowhere near 100kg. They have done everything they can to design weight out of them with lighter parts used where possible to reduce weight from where it isn't needed. Guessing about 20-30kg. Have there been any spy pics taken yet of it out in testing?

They positively cannot afford to make this car heavier. I predict this is Ford's last roll of the dice and then they will fold in Australia. Their current sales are abysmal. The tide has turned to medium and small sized cars. Only the Mondeo can save it and that's still nearly a year away.

Fuel economy helps sell cars, 99.9999% of people would not give a stuff how much it weighs. If Ford can get an export program for Orion like they are currently seeking in Asia and the Middle East then Ford Australia's future will be secure, especially now they will engineer them for LHD. The last thing they need is a bunch of whingers writting them off saying they are finished. Look what Mitsubishi has gone through with the constant headlines of shutting down. It has put a huge shadow over their business and has no doubt cost a lot of sales.

Take the fleet market away and they are almost non-existent. Do yo really believe even if the Orion's fuel economy is say 10% better (best case scenario) that will make any difference. Bury you head in the sand, but it won't help save them. Mitsubishi is dead, but they just don't know it.I don't want Ford or Mitsubishi to go under, but they aren't helping. Expensive Daewoo at least has massive exports to save it's neck, and the Late model camira is selling 2:1 over Ford, but is also in free fall. Of course sales will drop. They were expecting that and just need to weather the storm until Orion arrives. They don't expect sales of large cars to return to where they once where and they realise export markets can secure their future, hence the decision to make the Orion in LHD and seek export markets. Do you think they aren't aware of this? They have planned ahead, they haven't buried their head in the sand thinking things will improve in the large car sales cause they won't. They haven't invested 1.8 billion dollars here just to sell 3000 a month here in Australia.
