Got an update!

I have had a phone interview with a company, they are going to be flying me down in a couple of weeks for a face to face interview, medical site tour etc.

So far it sounds good.

I would like to thank the guys for replying, to start off with I was worried about what the company might of thought if I was to leave, but now I am thinking more along the lines of doing what I believe is right for me.

Will keep you posted.

Thanks

Well it has been a little while now, the company is just in the process of doing reference checks etc, spoke to my Supervisor today and he was not happy.

I dont really have anything against the company, it is about lifestyle changes etc.

Also getting heaps of pressure from the missus, she wants to move, the company doesnt want me to leave.

Fun, fun, fun.

I am not going to look forward to working out my two months notice, if that is the path I decide to take.

I dont suppose FIFO is an option for you at your current job?

That way you could have the best of both worlds.

Stay at your current position and keep the boss happy plus you get to keep that extra $40K, and when you are off you can play golf n a Perth course and the Mrs isn't too far from the nearest Myer!

I have pretty much made up my mind, I am just concerned that my manager will think I am ungrateful as they have given me the opportunity to have the Supervisors position

Of course they will be peeved if you were a goos Sup.

But, if you were that good, rest assured that you have paid your dues, generally Companies look to get 3 years out of highly paid personnel, making them good revenue, and, yes, they will be unhappy for you to go, but only because you made them stacks of cash.

Ultimately, it's your decision, and what's best for you, and your family. If you feel it's time for a change, go for it.

Enjoy life.

Thought I would let you all know that I have been offered the position, the $$ are very competitive considering I would be living in Perth.

I have tried to hand my notice in twice and the big boss, keeps telling me just to think about it.

I am going to givee it to him in writing tomorrow, hopefully he accepts.

mate, bugger what the boss thinks. Its your life. Obviously you want to be reasonable as he has looked after you, I understand that. However he is not in a position to make this decision for you.

Amen to that

Well thought I would give everyone another update, I have formally handed in my notice and have about 6 weeks to go, I will be letting the team that I supervise know next Friday. Hopefully they take it all OK.

I have also purchased a house in Secret Harbour, so I am just in the process of selling the house I am in.

Work offered me a good pay rise to stay, but I have let my Supervisor know that I am leaving for lifestyle reasons and my decision was not related to my financial position.
