Rubber lines, even viton lined fuel injection hose permeates fuel odours thru the fuel line and the smell will be a constant bother. If you must use metal bundy tube as much as possible and rubber just for joining and it should be OK.My STi has it in the boot as well and it stinks. It is a braided fuel line.My F6 also now has it in the boot. I had Tunhouse source some Earls braided lines that have a Teflon internal coating. No smell whatsoever.
