Paint Overspray On My Car

Today I parked my car at work, and in the morning there was a painter marking this wall near where my car was parked. I asked him if I should move my car, he said no we won't get that far and asured me it would be fine.

At around 4pm I then get a call from reception telling me my car has paint on it . I walk outside and find these painters with a bucket and an old rag trying to rub paint overspray off my car

I lost it, I was cracking the sh*ts in front on my boss and everyone wasn't good. I left work straight away and called final inspection and booked it in to get a stage 2 detail, (but I have to wait 3 f*kn weeks)

I then went to the car wash across the road and used the high pressure spray and removed around 90% of the paint as it is 'arcrylic paint' or water base paint.

There is still heaps of paint on my seals and paint on my rim and little bits on my car. Such a f*k around, I took all their details down and they said they will pay for it, just a pain in the ass though.

awell sh*t happens, should be able to get it all off, hopefully...

water based paint will wash off your car easily with hot soapy water, your cars finish is 2-pak, for hard to get spots you can use metholated spirits.

you have nothing to worry about when house paint is on a car, it wont stick to car paint. just a bit of a clean.

DAMN! theres a lot of us painters in here! These guys are right, warm soapy water,elbow grease, and all will be fine.

Another painter right here! Dont stress it will all come off no prob. I just had a full 10l tin of exterior gloss acrylic roll over and pop the lid in the back of my ute about 2 weeks ago. Needless to say it was everywhere!!!!! Including running out of the little drain hole, onto the road just infront of my rear tyre, and spraying off my tyres and all over te rear of my ute. What a mess!!! But it all cleaned up as if it was never there. I just got to it straight away with the hose and a lambs wool mitt. mess sorted. Oh yeah TIP: dont drift around round abouts with paint tins in the back! Lesson learned.

I had the car detailed last week, Damian @ FI said it was the hardest paint over spray he had dealt with before, it was in every crack possible but he did a good job. I'll post some pics of the car soon, it is looking heaps better than brand new and I'm happy with his work

I would recomend anyone to go there for a detail, definately worth every cent, not that I paid for it anyway lol.

I missed this one tab.... yes your right... the only difference was that mine was gloss enamel
