Yeah I have, I booked it in for a stage 2 which is enough for a new car, stage 1 would have been good enough, but I thought I'm not paying for it so stuff it, I didn't want to go stage 3 as they buff/machine the paint, no need for that with my car. I will ask for over 1k for compensation though, try and get a quote for a nice amount.

This is the detail I will get:

Stage 2

The Stage 2 Exterior Detail is recommended for vehicles up to Three Years old and cars detailed more than 1 year ago or for vehicles with Heavy Swirling.

This service should be performed at least once every 3 years (preferably once every 2 years) to maintain the 'as new' condition of your vehicles exterior parts - especially paintwork.

A Stage 2 Exterior Detail consists of:

- Thorough Hand Wash (also inc. a General Interior Clean)

- Our State of the Art Paint Preparation and non abrasive decontamination

- A 2 Stage Paint Correction by Machine, carried out by Damian Angelucci

- Headlights & Taillights (Polycarbonate, Acrylic or Glass) Polished & Sealed (Synthetic Wax)

- Wheels Bathed, Polished, Sealed (Synthetic Brake Dust Blocking Wax) & Tyres Dressed

- Wheel Arches Cleaned

- All Glass Cleaned Inside, Exterior Glass & Mirrors Polished and Sealed (Synthetic Wax)

- Exhaust Tips Cleaned and/or Polished

- Hand Applied Synthetic or Carnauba Wax of your choice (exc. Zymole Royale*).

$320.oo

Time Required: 10 Hours

So I'll let you guys know how that goes, I am also going to use a clay bar on it myself this weekend to just try and get some peace of mind, as it is killing me just thinking about what has happened. I just wanted to kill the c*nts, but my boss was standing there with everyone else, he was shocked that something like this could happen.

get this though, I was parking my car in visitors all last week and the start of this week and got told to move it, the day I move the car is the day it gets sprayed with paint, what a joke yeah, should have left it in visitors.

The overspray problem aside I personally think you are wasting your money.

My ute is almost 5 years old and there's not a swirl mark in sight.

It's not hard to maintain your car with some good products, a little time and some attention to detail.

what i hate about these situations, is you know dam well, some people are cleary morons. so your naturally corsus. especialy with your pride and joy.you get asurred it will be fine. and somehow. the s%it still happens. it never ceaces to amaze me. then there is all the incovenience, of getting it fixed. because some dump monkey should have been corsus, and said. yeah mate think that would be a good idea .(to move the car)

I will only have done what needs to be done, I'm not paying for it so I'm not losing any money out of it.

I will maintain my car I just need to buy some products, but why not get this problem fixed first especially if they are going to pay for it?

imo I think I am better off letting the pro's fix it then maintaining it from there.

Imagine if it happened to your brand new car after only having it for 4 weeks. You would want it fixed and payed for, so that is what I will do, screw letting them get away with it. that's my opinion anyway.

Yes how often have we heard that voice inside our heads tells us you should'nt be doing this and we choice to ignore it.

So have the car detailers given you some sort of guarantee that they can remove the overspray. Sure the cut and polish will remove the overspray from the paint work but what about all the plastic and rubber and your windows.

If they don't get it all off

Try some metho or turps and plenty of clean soft rags and some old fashion elbow grease.

I'm a painter by trade and these 2 products will shift most acrylic oversprays and will not damage paint work. Acrylic will come of the rubber and glass pretty easily the plastic is another problem. Try either product on a part of the plastic that you cannot easily see to see which one works best. Have a good quality plastic & rubber rejuvinator handy and treat each section you clean ASAP. You need to get on to it before the acrylic cures.

I can understand your p@ssed of but the longer you leave it for someone else to clean off the harder it will be. I would be cleaning the rubber and plastic myself and billing them for my time

Good luck

Disclaimer

This is the method that I would use if it were my car and I accept no responsibility what so ever if you chose to use it on your car it is purely a suggestion and a course of action should the detailing be unsuccessfull.

As in the case of any chemicals on surfaces, please try a test patch in a spot that is hard to see to check for reactions and effects on surfaces.
