Lads, I've just purchased an Rspec F6.

Interested to see some decent pics of some to get an idea of the ride height. Im thinking of getting

some decent springs to remove any gap but wondering how the rspec sits from factory.

Also can anyone tell me what it is exactly that the rspec has that differs from a 'normal' F6. (suspension wise that is)

Barrett said FPV has customised the R-Spec package to maximise the handling characteristics of the Typhoon, allowing drivers of the limited edition F6 R-Spec to extract the best possible performance out of their vehicle, with the most significant change being the front end damper tune.

 ....you get a badge....

...Edit: sorry but I'm yet to hear anyone say there happy with the 'supposed' better handling characteristics without mentioning an upgrade.....

I have an F6 with the usual kings sl front and ssl rear. its 650mm from the ground at each wheel when I measure to the centre of the guard. There is no gap between the tyre and the guard. From memory it was lowered 15mm at the front and 25mm at the rear .. Arron

Gotta say that the R Spec is a better handler than the stock BA Phoon was, still bouncy at over 220 on my private road. It is good enough IMHO not to bother with springs and shocks like the MK11 Phoon needed. Hope the Whitelines stop the high speed bounce, gonna find out when I get home next monday.

The whiteline swaybars stop some of the bounce but at speeds we are talking about it is the dampers that are doing most of the work, not to mention the brakes.

Brembos matey, Brembos. Still the R Spec sits nicely at hign speed compared to a stock Phoon. The nolathane lower control arm bushes are the only thing I will do, until the R Spec shocks have 20,000klms which by then they should have been well and truely stuffed. :stirthepot:

The front looks as if it sits a lot lower than the back on my one...

I have no issues with the handling at all. It's f*cking unreal. Haven't had it over 200kph, and to be quite honest, it's a complete waste of money to replace anything if you're keeping it stock. How many times do you want to go over 200kph if you enjoy your licence?

I think the lowest clearance is 110mm which is obviously 10mm above roadworthy limit.

Thanks for the pics guys, the car is a daily driver, im not looking to go to hard core on the suspension for this car. Sway bars would help cornering and dynamic balance on the limit but that's something I can make a decision on after a track day or three.

More so wanting to aesthetically improve the car with no gap between guard and tyre but using decent matched springs. Not a fan of the king/lovell et al grade of gear. May try some eibachs.

The only real mod will more than likely be a nizpro stage II plus and some tints.

Thanks again for theh responses and pics.
