I took it in to Ford to get a 3000k check up and booked the car in for the 'spray man' to respray the rear sploiler after the scuff on the left corner was quite poorly disguised on delivery, and had a whinge about the slight brake squeal I'm getting from brand-freaking-new Brembos. He shook his shoulders and told me it wasn't anything unusual.

Does anyone else experience this or has anyone said the right thing and got it fixed? I hear they spray anti-squeal on the rotors.

GREAT fix Ford! :censored:

I have 6 and 4 piston brembos and they have never squealed , but the wheels turn black in 2 days. My son has premuim blue FPV brakes on his XR6 and they dont squeal either. He has bendix premium pads. What you can do is remove the pads and use the an anti squeal product on the rear of the pads. Brake shops sell it, I think it looks like orange silicon. You apply a thin coat and then put the pads back in, what it does is bond the pads to the pistons. The squealing is the vibration of the pads between the piston at certain frequencies. This should fix your problem. Arron

apart from the warping of the standard brakes, the only thing that really annoys me is the bloody swish-swish sound from the handbrake, especially since it doesnt work!

I had a squeal in mine around 1500ks when I was doing some town driving too, but it dissappeared around 6000k's.

In between that time I'd done some serious braking at 120+ down some long mountain drives, got 'em nice and hot over 6hrs driving each time.

never squealed again, now up to 11600ks

My last Xr6T had some squeals too, but when I tried to heat em up doing the same mountain run, they just warped - I know at least with the brembos they will cop it hard all day long and still stop on a dime, now without a peep.
