I dont have any fitting instructions as I bought second hand... I also only got 2 brackets with the cooler and 2 screws, am I suposed to have more?? As in I can only screw it to the car, in two places... In this pic (not of my car) there are 4 places circled in red to show where the mounting points are, therfore 4 brackets/mounting points and screws needed correct??If so im stuffed...Cheers Mike

Here are the pics of the brackets I was supplied with my Monza I/C. Edited 09/02/08 03:51 AM by hanra

This might help you out. Righto I got this monst (monza style) intercooler off ebay for bugger all. Fitted it all up this on saturday. I made things difficult for myself due to the fact that I had fitted a PWR Aux trans cooler onto the A/C condensor. This made things very very very squeezy.... Main problem was that I mounted it as low as possible to allow clearance for the stock I/C. I also shifted the horns to underneath the drivers side guard, there was a hole already there for the mounting bolt and a big hole for the wiring!!! Perfect. So I ended up having to drill new holes for the lower radiator support and shift it further back towards the engine. I also had to grind about 2mm out of the backside of the bumper renforcement bar, to allow safe clearance for the intercooler. Because I had to the intercooler further forward then normal I also had to frig around with the mouning brackets. I drilled a new hole in the reo bar on the drivers side, on the passenger side I redrilled a new hole in the bracket. Was a bit of a gin around took me most of saturday to get it sorted. But it turned out ok. Was going to fit the UBP at the same time but im still running a stock tune. So that can wait until I get a custom tune. Horn relocation: Trial fit showed a lot of fouling:Lack of clearance between Trans cooler and I/C:Lack or clearance between I/C and bumper reo bar:Soloution was to drill new mounting holes in the lower radiator support bracket to move it back:That gave me some clearance along with using the angle grinder on the back of the reo bar:Had to modify the I/C mounting brackets a little and drill some new holes: Now I had plenty of clearnace: All done:

I may have to FAB something up.... Do you reckon that the 2 brackets that I have is enough to hold the cooler in place??

Those two L brackets couldnt be any easier to make up!!!!!

Have you already started pulling your old cooler out? No point bodgin it when you just have to pull it all apart again to install it properly. If you only fit the lower brackets in will try to pivot forwards or backwards. If your desperate perhaps you can cable tie it in place around the upper region to prevent it from moving? If you dont have the trans cooler there, or mount it higher, then it will fit no worries!
