Mines got 70 and its newer than yours! Did the clutch only slip that one time or is doing it all the time? If it only did it once I don't think there is much concern. XR06T Silver Donating Members 4,146 Member For: 19y 8m 4d Gender: Male Posted 08/02/08 05:31 AM Share Posted 08/02/08 05:31 AM not knocking you in any way but perhaps it is your technique. when mine slipped I just asked to much of it, tried for a 4k slip to get it moving, but didn't get off the clutch quick enough and went nowhere. the sweet spot is a bit lower than 4k for sure, somewhere around 3.5k I have found. The clutch plate itself will have signs of this slip and Ford will classify it as driver abuse on a wear and tear item. Don't even get them to look at it as they will say, yeh, we will have a look, then turn to you and tell you that they wont replace it due to driver abuse and hand you an invoice for $500 for dropping the gear box and inspecting the clutch. Just take it on the chin that you gave it something it can't handle and just replace it with one of Mal's baby's.
