HELP!!!!!!

Found a ugly pool (small) of oil on the garage floor under the diff this arvo, without getting the jack out would sumise that the diff seal is leaking. Anyone else had this problem?

Have run a search and found heaps on driveline shunt but nothing regarding seal leaks. And yeah have got a bang from the diff when changing gear.

The 'Bird' is into the dealers tomorrow, as soon as I mentioned the diff seal the service guy said" We will need it for the day" What gives

If they mention exhaust mods I'll load up the 'coon gun

No jokes please.....yeah yeah I know, what goes around.....etc;

One of our Canberra members BlueXR6T had a similar (worse I think!) diff problem with his car, dealer fixed it up no worries under warranty.

Good luck with it mate.

Hard to see how a dealer could string together a connection between a diff seal and an exhaust mod

Hi Silverhawk,

kinda puts an interesting twist on "manuals they are more fun."

Seriously though good luck with your rocket, your exhaust mods won't be able to be held against you as the reason they (Ford techs') are underneath your car.

With mine the seal wasn't put in correctly from the start and sprayed oil all over the back of the car under pressure.

Ford replaced the whole diff in mine. but that was 11000 km ago

SH - warranty ... I've heard of a few diff seals going ... it is one of the traditional new car problems/risks ... hopefully yours is just a hiccup ...

cheers

Thanks for the input guys.

Got the Bird back, nothing major, the face plate bolts were a little loose. A few turns of the trusty ol spanner, check the oil level cleaned her down, right as ninepence

AND they only had it for 3 hours :)

The service guy loved the exhaust and was impressed with the job Perth Exhaust Centre had done (on ya Don  ). And loved the note B)

AND manuals are still more FUN kt :D
