hi Guys,

You have been asked this question a zillion times but ill try my luck...

I have a stock standard 04 BA Turbo..and wanted a little bit more grunt an dnoise.

my questions are?

1)is the exhaust worthwile doing?I ahve been told by a few its not

2)what is the most apporpriate blow-off valve, where can I get it from and how much?

3)what are other mods I can do cheaply to get a bit more grunt??

4)and here is one way off the topic..the guy I bought the car off, scratched the hell out of the rims..I have the 18 inch silver polish rims..is there a place in sydney that anyones knows of that can possibly shva ethem back and restore them or do I have to buy new rims..

im really sorry about the long and dumb questions..

I appreciate your advice and this forum rocks...

it has everything

1) If you make an engine breathe better (ie intake and exhaust) you will make more power. Of course its worth doing a less restrictive exhaust. HOWEVER they arent cheap (1.2-3K) and you just cant run an exhaust to get more power. You need to tune the car to make sure you wont run into any major problems like detonation etc etc. So a 2K TBE actually costs you 4K+++ after you do edit, tune, injectors, pump, fmic :( Better off doing other things first

Diff back might give u a stronger note if that's what your after though?

2) Wank Value mod IMHO and wont make you go any faster. Probably be better to save your $300. If you really want the sound, I guess try a local meetup and see what others have?

3) K&N air filter (RDP had these for $69), DIY extra F6 snorkel (I assume the BA has similiar airbox to BF??) as they help in the breathing process but I doubt you'd notice it on the bum dyno! Still its an important mod. Could do under $120

Edit is probably the best start though. You will feel an improvement as it allows you to run a couple of "better" tunes with more boost. Custom tunes in the future for when you start playing with FMICs, injectors, fuel pumps, bigger turbo etc :D

$495 from KPM and CV at the moment! Bit more expensive than an airfilter BUT results will be better!

1/ No , not unless chasing big power. You can remove the centre muffler and replace with hot dogs or straight through pipes

2/Standard BOV is fine as it does it's job and legally

3/Best mod you can do is an edit and custom tune- check sponsors forum for details

As Senna said do a search and have a read there is loads of info

These guys do excellent work on rims. Have used them myself. Highly recommended

I know it wont give more grunt

but apart from custom edit my favourite mod has been the whiteline adjustable sway bars.

improves handling on corners 100% on these tanks. IMHO

cheap and easy!

also does anyone know somewhere good in VIC to fix scratches on wheels?

then grabbing maybe a typhoon cooler and whacking it on mine...I alrewady have an ss custome cold air in take setup..

I didnt realsie I had to stuff around witht he computer....

The stock exhaust is good to 350kw ,the cat is the restriction in the system and should be change out at approx 260kw +, plenty of other things to play with before you need to touch the exhaust.

The Edit or stuffing around with the computer as you put it, is intrinsic with modding turbo falcons, gone are the days of tuning with a screwdriver.
