its true though, the bloke who has the XY(?) with around 800hp just did a powerskid from the line, now I'm not saying I could do any better myself, but it was a drag racing competition, not a burnout or powerskid comp!

Doesn't matter, the winner of a drag race is the one with the quickest ET. What he does to get there, or how bad he doesn't matter. Sure you can bag him for it, and he probably could have done a better time if he drove properly, but he still had the fastest time.

The fact that he did a burnout the whole way and still gets the fastest time is pretty impressive when you think about it (weather he meant it or not) :stupid:

:stupid: hey, I genuinely believed tsatziki injection would help my car make more power...

Overall I think it is a good idea for a show, let down by the execution.

If they had a "stig like" control driver, it would be much more apparent as to who has the best car. As it seems to be the drivers letting the cars down

Well said. Any performance testing without a control driver and conditions is not worth sh*t. Even if they could all drive, the testing would meant nothing without consistant driving.

Ive seen guys in stock T's spin the wheels off the line and loose to sh*tas, try getting 8oohp down on street tires with a big stallie. It had the gearing and the tqe to keep moving once it got a bit of traction.

as I said, I'm not saying I could've done better, but the task was drag racing, and not powerskids (which are alot of fun!)

If the car is not able to do it with the current set-up, then so be it. He should be happy that he still went so damn quick!

Still cant go past Top Gear on foxtel. Even my missus who doesnt particularly love cars like me watches it religiouslly. Reason for it's success is in most part due to the personalities of the three presenters. Like to know who the heck is the STIG ? Anybody got any ideas who he/she is?

cheers,

Geoff

Top Gear is just so beautiful to look at too. The locations (autobahns, dormant volcanos, army training grounds) make it more interesting than just seeing cars go around a track.

Yeah the hot dyno run didnt do the RX any favours.

I was keen to see what the QS car would pull but it was only running 3psi... you'd think you'd run a motor in prior to going on a TV show.

a 500rwhp xr6turbo would have beaten them all.

I enjoyed the watching the show and will look forward to seeing if they do it again.

australia needs more shows like this.
