I've been running a "high flow" stock cat for a while now, and I don't get any black smoke out the back what-so-ever. You can smell the fuel a bit more than normal, but its not bad really

Quick question bro..

Spoke to mike at XFT and he reckons if you run no cat you can run into issues with holding boost etc

Did simon say anything to u about this?

Perhaps if you gut your cat theres still just enough restriction to keep things normal? But I would think the rest of the exhaust would!

Running a high flow cat, gutted cat or no cat would yield pretty much the same results in Silhouette6t's case as he has a stock dump pipe. Once a huge dump is used, the different cat's will then show different results but with factory dump pipe, the amount of air passing through the cat is restricted.

that's what im thinking? In the first lot of mods I plan on running, dekas, PW stage2 fmic, F6 CAI box with K&N filter, edit from KPM with custom tune and fuel pump at Simons. Similiar mods to many!

I know the cats are one of the big restrictions in the standard exhaust so I was planning on gutting the cat (or getting a proper replacement pipe made) but Mike said that even with a standard dump pipe it'll still have problems? That said he also wasnt too impressed with the dekas and people are running them ok!

Exhaust et al will come in the future perhaps. Well and truely after brakes and suspension!
