Using a different gear will change the torque output. Power shouldn't vary much.I was of the opinion that 4th in the auto is no good because it's just an overdrive gear and it's not made to accelerate at full throttle from a low speed.I've seen some dyno operators use lower gears to keep the speed of the dyno down.
