I have a 4sp auto

Which gear should be used when tuning

What's the difference in using 3rd or 4th gear while tuning

Is there a difference in the end result

I had mine tuned in 4th gear

Thanx :howbig:

they try and dyno the car as close to 1 to 1 as possible this gives an average result over most cars.

3rd seems to be the gear of choice with the 4 speed because as mentioned it gives a 1:1 ratio.

Using a different gear will change the torque output. Power shouldn't vary much.

I was of the opinion that 4th in the auto is no good because it's just an overdrive gear and it's not made to accelerate at full throttle from a low speed.

I've seen some dyno operators use lower gears to keep the speed of the dyno down.
