I.e the exhaust is heated and expanded.Nope.... Accelerate and it starts.... Take the foot off the pedal and it stops immediately.Could it be a loose bearing? Would it be worth taking the top off the turbo and checking it out myself? (Assumption made that there is a top that you can take off.. lol)

Give them a good touch up one afternoon..Do it all yourself to be honest, just need a torque wrench.. Just give all the bolts a good nip..Its better to do something like this then to spend money on nothing Edited 22/09/10 05:07 AM by 4DZILR

Just spoke with a guy who knows a little bit about cars... He seemed to think that a loose bearing in the turbo is bad... As in, new turbo bad... :( Edited 22/09/10 05:33 AM by RHR No need to quote above post. USE FAST REPLY

I remember seeing a video of it on here somewhere.. if its your manifold bolts, it could make noises .. hell.. I dun even know what the noise sounds like lmao Edited 22/09/10 06:04 AM by 4DZILR

anwickes Member 47 Member For: 14y 3m 1d Posted 28/09/10 08:51 AM Share Posted 28/09/10 08:51 AM Turns out it is an exhaust leak near the manifold. They reckon it could be a loose bolt, busted bolt or I've blown a gasket. Not happy after only having the car 2 weeks!!! anwickes Member 47 Member For: 14y 3m 1d Posted 28/09/10 09:11 AM Share Posted 28/09/10 09:11 AM So I just read that it's dangerous to drive a car with a leak in the manifold as poisonous fumes could leak into the cabin....Is this for real? Should I be finding alternative transport to work for the next week or so?

Id lost one bolt from the turbo and 4 off the flange, just goes to show what happens when you dont torque em up, I learnt my lesson that's for sure If your a little bit handy its not overly hard to take of the heat sheilds and check yourself but the turbo bolts can be a especially that last one. I'm thinking I will just turn the aircon/heater off and put the windows down.I have noticed being a bit 'dopey' and sleepy while driving lately. Makes sense now!
