The whine problem doesn't break anything. They're just noisey.

I can't remember hearing of someone actually breaking a ute diff.

If I ever have another noisey diff I'm going to strip it down and check everything over. I'd be interested to see if all these problems are just caused by them not being assembled within the correct specs.

I would say so. At one stage they promised that I would get one that was hand built to finer tolerances or some crap - which must be reserved for the vocal customers that have tantrums after being stuffed around so much. :lookaround:

Think there was something on here about it as well.

I've got 90k on my diff. approx 70k on the stock CWP with 330+rwkw and no problems at all. Im sure any diff specialist could sort out the issues with the diffs by assembling them properly

Diff and Tran specialist had a look and said it would cost me $700 just to pull it apart, then depending on the damage up to $2000 for a re build.

I was a little bit shocked, so I took it to ford and let them have the problem as it was still under warranty.

But just curious, what does a diff cost?

2 month wait for a vital driveline part like a diff??? WTF !!

is it still driveable?? I'd be ultra vocal in demanding a loaner car, esp since yours is that new !!

Its still driveable, however the sounds is so annoying!

The worst thing though, (Bit off topic) My ipod and Ipod cable got stole from my car when it was in with Ford. They rang me this morning, and said they will replace it, but still! Dodgy bastards!

And they didnt wash my car, god that annoys me!
