Seriously its damn hard doing all that in a garage that is literally 2cm longer than the BA - no room at all.

He's not joking at all with that above description... Smallest garage (big shed) I've ever seen...

I've been thinking of doing the sub in spare tyre install for a while now after seeing someone else on this forum did the install in the picture below as I have the same subs but not sure if I have the skill to fibreglass as I've never done it before.

Is there anywhere to get bulk resin and glass mat cheap?

Install looks cool too, congrats

Yeah, I'd be lying if I said I didn't have inspiration from Bob's install (the one you have pictured), in fact he was a great help when sorting out the technical side of my DVD HU on the factory screen.

There are places that you can get glass and resin cheap - however I dont personally know of any on QLD - yellow pages are your friend. I'd never really fibreglassed before and mine is ok - just plan exactly what you want to do and take the time to do it carefully.

If you haven't seen the other pics of bob's install you should do so - his is far more professional looking than mine.

Yeah thanks, I have all of his pics on the computer and it is impressive. Mind you your job is still excellent also and leaves the boot nice and neat with the amp hidden.

Hey Guys,

Just a little update, I have made the side pieces that go to the left and right of the enclosure.

These are MDF and are there to make the floor level, providing a clean look. They are being glued as we speak. The right hand one will work like the factory piece, foam underneath , covering and allowing easy access to the jack.

The rear part of the boot (looking in) will utilise the factory carpet (which matches the stuff I am using beautifully) All I have to do is make a nice straight edge to meet the enclosure.

Chris.

Very kewl setup there, Ghia! Well done! :spoton:

I didn't want to sacrifice my spare wheel, so I went with the option to lose some boot space. Still plenty of room left for my big cricket bag or golf clubs. They just cop a LOT of reverb now... :dontknow:

Looks good but I'm predicting alot of MDF rattle
Wrapped in carpet with the foam underneath I cant see it being a problem.

Let us know anyway.

Brett

You are both on the money.... So far all the pieces all the top and sides are covered in carpet.

I went down to Bunnings on the way home from work to buy some foam - I though you would be able to get in in the section where they sell rubber and carpet from the rolls. No deal.

All the bottom/lower sections will be covered in foam to stop movement and rattles and any possible scratches.

Anyone know where I can get some - I'll try Clark rubber I think.

Thanks Lord Cyric... I realy dont use the boot that much - I was figuring that this would give me the best utilisation of space I could muster. I still wanted to have the split rear seats which was a big contributor to this style.
