I've spent the last two days watching the local firey's battle scrub and bush fires. We had the choppers in yesterday firebombing a scrub fire that was only about 150m from my house.

I just want to say a big thank you to these guys for there effort and hard work.

thanks guys you are hero's

Luke

Im thinking i might call that station and find out what the boys drink and drop off a couple of cartons of coldies for the boys. they have certainly earned it.

We had two modified jet rangers and a Seaking. The Seaking is canadain too. Drops 4000kgs of water. They where running a 5 mins turn around from dump to dump.

truly awe inspiring.

Indeed they are

Like Dags mentioned though most of them are volunteers....get no financial reward for it whatsoever. If it was the rural brigade you'd have a hard job tracking them down as their station would be all locked up and everyone back at their day jobs once it's all under control.

Why these guys dont get paid (just like the Army Reserve) is beyond me.

Great People.

I'm sure Army Reserve get paid Tax Free. Fire Fighters do such a hard and fantastic job. Always working hard.

They have saved my local area a few times from bush fires top blokes I think they would really appreciate those beers I no I would.
