Hi all,

I've got a mate who wants to replace his Rex with a decent car.............. a T of course.

He wants to know from when Typhoon rods were standard in a T?

He also asked about bigger brakes (322mm)and if they were standard on the BF?

When the 6 speed auto was released?

And the latest offering is dual zone a/c. When was this released as standard issue?

I told him he could probably get a new one for around 40 grand, is this true?

He wants a S/H one by the sound of it though and wants to get the best value he can get.

I gave him some dates for the rods etc but they were only guestimates at best

Any info to pass onto him would appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob

The 6-speed auto came out with the BF (Late 05).

Typhoon rods were stock from I think 6/06... (I think)

I don't know about the duel climate, I didn't think it was ever stock, even today.

Hope this helps.

Dual Zone climate became standard in July/07 build cars onward.

New you can get for around $43,000 with the new body kit, 18's and premium icc

The bigger brakes were standard with BF1 (Late 05)

I went to Ford to find out if mine had the upgraded engine parts. They wanted to know my VIN number and from that he told me mine had the updated parts when he looked it up on the computer. Mine is a May 06 BF.

Just a question....

Are the brakes a lot better than the BA's since the upgrade... I've never driven a BA.

True?

Dorko

I think they are the same size as the BA premium brake uprade, only minus the slotted rotors.

They work OK if used once maybe twice pretty hard , but after that they fade and get all wobbly in the peddle until they hardly work at all.

The fluid gets hot (boils) and is not effective. The bigger brake diameter dissapates the heat better.

Fred Flintstone could've stopped more consistantly.
