Jared did you bring the gaps down on te plugs when you put the 10psi tune in it.?

My mate had a brand new BA XR6T MK2 ute new from the showroom floor and his only made 169.9rwkw on same dyno as mine was tested on, and his was 6spd manuel, also today I witnessed a stock as a rock BF Typhoon 6spd manuel make 240.3rwkw on the same dyno mine was tested on on factory boost.

Apparently the valve springs on the BA Mk1 are absolute rubbish and may contribute to the lowish power figures im now getting, so im off to get them changed in the next week or so and see what happens then.

My mate who does the dyno'ing on my car has said ford used to test some cars on his dyno and some typhoons used to struggle to make 200rwkw and he said some stock xr6t's were freaks 1 even making 235rwkw on his dyno so I think it must be just the way it is, some people get the freaks and some get the duds, im with you hahaha, dissapointing I know but ahwell what can you do.

Cheers

don't know how long it will last but mine seems to be a freaky one 308 rwkw still has stock springs and only 12psi of boost ba mk1

I've also heard fpv actually put together the first batch of xr6T's until ford got sorted enough to do it themselves so I'm guessin the first batch ford put together are fairly random on there build quality

Yeah a dud is possible but I dont believe that is the case here as it went really when I bought it, I have just recieved my nizpro springs in the mail so they will be goin in in the next few weeks when I can do without my car for a day or so. I will definitely be getting a custom tune too but I need to bring the power up to standard first.

these coils don't really miss like I said mine was only starting to break down under boost the coil would still be fine if it was in an n/a motor mate if you haven't tested them it's the first thing I would do these cars have blown coils at anything from 40'000km

Have you had the car dyno'd before the you performed the 10psi tune ?.

Mine had a 10psi tune when I bought it everything else was totally stock and it could only muster 185rwkw but ive read on here heaps of people with same boost making 200-240rwkw on just 10psi alone.

I removed centre muffler fitted a Rajab Cooler, Typhoon lower airbox with 2nd CAI but still have the ford factory element which is abit grubby looking until I go and buy a K&N flat panel filter.

Got it custom tuned as I wasnt sure if it had just the generic 10psi tune and anyhow after the custom tune it picked up to 218.3rwkw on 10psi dropping back to about 7.9-8psi.

I have now purchased injectors, (Deka's) and are getting valve springs done and upping the boost to about 15psi and changing some piping sections so ill see how it goes then.

It went better standard when I first bought compared to what it does now with more boost and now my factory tune is really slow??????

I will look into it, it doesnt seem to break down though it still revs right through the range it just doesnt throw you in your seat. LIke I said first it seemed like it went better when I first bought it even on factory tune compared to the 10 psi I have now, which the dyno proves.

shoot 6 mode? isn't that the wrong ramp rate?

generic tunes (mine anyway) does not have a good top end at all. the mid range is alot fatter though so it is quicker on the road.

From what I know Shoot 6 is usually industry standard, that's whats used at the summernats event aswell as many others, it stops the correction factors from being tweaked and allows all cars running in shoot 6 mode to be on par with each other, same goes for shoot 4 and 8...

Mine felt flat and linear through the whole range before the tune, now I had a custom tune it starts making oost around 22-2500rpm and feels to have fullboost by about 3000 right through to 5500-6000rpm but my sh*tty valve springs are getting worse and after a few repeated cainings it feels like it drops back to factory power.

Getting springs upgraded pretty soon hopefully so ill see how that goes.
