But first I think I have to spray it first. I was thinking of carrying the shiny silver colour from around the ICC up to the base of the gauges. It might look good being that mine is Lightening Strike. Anyone know what the colour is?

MADF6

I got it off ebay from Pole Position Auto Accessories.

http://polepositionauto.com.au/productstripods.shtml

I got em for $155 plus $10 postage. Now I'm going to buy the boost, oil pressure and water temp gauges from Scott at ozegauges and put em in.

http://www.ozegauge.com.au/

I'm going to spray the tripod the right colours first, then get an auto elec to install them (if they can?) Otherwise I have no idea who else would install them? I tried Autobarn but they couldn't organise a root in a brothel. Losers.

Cool - make sure you let us all know how it goes! I wish I could get 60mm gauges but I guess anything is better than the originals. Looking forward to hearing from you...

My phoon is still about 10 days away...

FINALLY got delivery of my negroid (AKA silhouette) R Spec :Sug1: . Came up on the back of a truck so I had some cleaning to do and I'll prolly give her a polish and wax in a few weeks. I'll post some pictures soon once I get the tint done.

The wifes not sure yet however - I'm in the drivers seat sounding like Palpatine from Star wars shouting 'UNLIMITED POWER' as this things propelling us to the outer regions of our gallaxy when I look across at my wife and she's freakin loosing it :tonguepoke: ... Served me right - I should have known better - should have shown her how big the glove box was for her make-up or how many damn garth brookes cd's she can jam in the in-dash CD changer...

I remember when I was 18 and I came home locked into a full race harness in a Alfa Romeo 75 Potenziata. My mother saw (and heard) me coming up the road in this thing looking like I just went to battle and lost it - completely broke down on the front lawn  ... Man I felt so bad so whenever I show her one of my cars I always underdrive (and under rate) it so she doesn't get too worried - figure it's for her own good. I'm actually not worried about showing her the Typhoon as it's very conservative if you don't hammer it so she should be fine. HOWEVER, I've also got the father inlaw coming down on the weekend and he thinks I did the responsible thing and bought an runout XT! The bad thing is that I asked him what he thinks of the XR6 (after I bought the Typhoon), which would be the minimum model I would consider anyways, and he said their a hotted up hoon mobile :spoton:. I was thinking WTF :oohwoah: - you can rent them from Hertz dude! Don't know how he's going to take the phoon... If he gets smart I might have to administer a few neuton meters :3gears: in his general direction :10_7_3:

Seriously though I'm 100% happy with the car. Love the look and the power/torque is just mind blowing. I'm going out to Standthorpe Fruit and Wine festival on the weekend and am lining up some other day trips... Lovin it!

You won't stop driving it mate.

Also, you'll get used to the power soon and forget how quick it is. I'm already thinking of getting it flashed. Shocking...

Mate, tough audience there! They'll always freak when they think we spend too much or buy fast cars or both. You're right- it's so sedate around town, take 'em for a nanna drive and they'll think theyre sitting in pokey a 4cyl , that might settlem' down.

I reckon if you came home in an XT you'd probaby get the "why didn't you wait for the new model" line.

Alternately strap em in, go full boost, and they'll probably never speak again from shock!

Have fun on the weekend drive - you made the right choice!

Funny stuff.........I think we all share the same attempts to lay on the guilt by our families!

My Mrs isnt too bad actually, its a good thing she loves cars herself. I am actually gonna send her on the FPV drive day as a reward.

My old man is the worst though.......if he new the truth he would have a hearty!!

Congratz on the new ride MADF6.

I think the black rims would look nice.

All I can say mate is do what you want and what you think looks nice.

seriously you spent a fortune on your ride and its your money, not for you to be getting approval off others when it aint there car ;)

it kinda reminds me of when the fpv pics came out in the herald sun and people were like 'that's the ugliest thing ever'... then when it got launched, they were like 'OMG its the best thing'

=]
