MADF6 Member 399 Member For: 17y 13d Posted 26/01/08 02:21 AM Share Posted 26/01/08 02:21 AM I'm a long time reader, first time poster on fordxr6turbo. I have to say I've found this site great...The other day I put a deposit on a Black Typhoon Rspec. Initially I was unsure whether I should get the standard Typhoon or the Rspec so, after going for a test drive in both, I decided to go with the Rspec. I found it to be much stiffer with a more responsive turn in which confirmed that it was the one for me. I have to say the drive was absolute bliss - the instant acceleration in these things is just jaw dropping...The cars a manual in silhouette (black). Although I also like the Bionic with the Dark Agent rims and the also the white, I decided to go with black with the standard 19" rims. I've been keen on the black since I saw one overtake me like a stealth bomber a few months ago late at night. Thinking down the track I might get the rims powder coated as I'm a fan of black on black, but for now the silver rims with black looks good (I think). I also wasn't sure on the transmission and ended up going the manual - something I hope I don't regret because I absolutely love the semi-auto. I figured I'd be only driving it on weekends and I might end up missing the clutch after a few months so I really hope I won't regret it.Anyways... can't wait. Should be around 2 weeks until delivery. I still need to get a towbar fitted to it - does anyone know what these cost? I'm also deciding on plates - probably carnumberFPV or JETcarnumber - haven't decided yet... The FPV plates on ppl.com.au also look like a goer...I'll post some pics and plan to do some in car movies too...

You just wait until the thing is run in and you can tramp the first 3 gears to 160 within 500 metres! IT'S FUN! I did it last night with a mate in the car and he was holding the mobile phone presenter like it was a jesus bar Where did you get it from? No - no mods planned yet, although I think I might get the rims power coated black. Just a cosmetic thing - I like black on black.I've been checking out the APS kits - oh my god -> hxxp://www.airpowersystems.com/falcon/typhoon/typhoon.htmAlthough I'm not interested in the incar scene I did think these were pretty cool too - hxxp://www.carputersystems.com.au, but not really my thing. The guys at work reakon I should start with a tune. Does a tune void warrenty, or is a flash tune the way to go so you can remove the box from the diagnostics port before servicing? I've been looking at the flash tuners on the capa website.Cheers. I went to school with Pete Luxon's kids so I got to ride in their silver Unichip BA XR6T (amongst the other 20 cars in their personal garages) when it had over 415rwkw. It was just a sickening amount of power.I'm seriously considering getting the Capa flasher as well, but if I get dicked, RACV woudn't be too happy and neither would Ford I imagine.I'd love to know if anyone does use it and flash it back to stock when they get it serviced etc. on an F6 and how much power they get from it.I drove down to Nizpro the other day and spoke to one of the guys there, and he said an F6 will have from 210rwkw to 220rwkw stock, and for $3,500, they'll do injectors, cat and capa flash/custom tune resulting in around 290rwkw with 20,000k 12 month warranty that covers anything and everything. So tempting! And I've only had the f*cking thing since last Wednesday week!P.S. MADF6, now that you're a soon-to-be owner of a new F6, you should donate and reap the benefits!
