I bought a set of 18" wheels and tyres for track days.

I do about 4-6 per year.

I have happily destroyed the rubbish tryes that were on the wheels and am now looking to buy some semi slicks.

I have been considering the Falken RT615.

Can anyone assist with either the best place to go to in Sydney to buy semi slicks, and any feedback about the Falken or other tyres.

Thanks

Try the Bridgestone R spec race tyres or the Yokohama race semi slicks.

I have 2 sets of Bridgestones sitting in my shed waiting the next track day to try some out. I use Yokohama Advan sports every day, and have done a track day with them, I will be interested to see the difference, as the advans are regarded as being one of the best road - sport tyres available.

I run Dunlop DO1J's on my mini. They are intended to be a track tyre, but are the most stickiest things on the street. Not sure how they would go if used down the strip.

Ozzy tyres at Hoxton Park in Sydney sell the R compound RT615. I bought a set for my wifes STi a few week ago from them for a very good price.... for normal street use!

mabee ring mamood at tyreland weatheral park.

he gets me 60% tread yoko semi slicks for 70 dollars each.

that's a real bargain. he gets them in on a monthly basis so depending on how much rubber me and my workmates use there should be some left.

I have a set of Falken RT615s for my falcon. 255/40/18s.

Yet to use them on the track. I had them on the car for about a month. On the street they are very impressive.

My father has Toyo RE888 on his TE50 for track work. He has only used them in the wet so far. He seemed very happy with them.

The RT615s seem to be much harder than other semi's I've seen. Compared with the old fingernail into the rubber trick.

Gordon Levin in Penrith are the ones to try. that's all they sell, race tyres, rally tyres ect.

Dunlop DO1J are a great semi, you'll shave some decent time off your laps with these.
