I got a quote today from a local performance shop to FIT valve springs to my baxr6t that I have already purchased..

He said if I get the head removed he will fit them to the head for 600 dollars.

600 DOLLARS! Is this normal? That is double what I paid for Nizpro Valve springs!

Can someone please point me in the right direction or recommend a workshop in Melbourne to fit the springs, and some sort of price figure.

Thanks heaps.

Can be done without pulling the head off. Geez they are behind the times....

However, I got a quote from a local performance shop that tune XR's....

They quoted $1200.... yes $1200 just to fit the supplied springs. that's $1200 just in labour to fit springs that I would supply.....

Nizpro charge I think $500, AVO $450 and HP-F quoted me $625. These prices are if you already have the Springs, as in your case.... Anymore is BS

Exactly my thoughts, my quote would work out to be more then $200 per hour.... Fark I work on million dollar aircraft and our workshop labour rate isnt even that high!

Jesus christ, I never knew that they were so hard to fit!!! Labour more than the parts, that is unreal. I actually bought them online so I haven't been to nizpro, but I'll get them to fit them I spose. The bloke I spoke to wanted the head off because he said he did one and dropped a collet into the sump or some crap story...

I see atomic sell a valve spring removal tool that compresses all 4 springs in one hit. Should knock some time off the job?
