I'm going to take a different tact here. I have had my XR6-T since early Nov 2003. As I have commented on another post, my sales person suggested not to bother with the 3000k "complimentary" service unless something was wrong. Accordingly, I have now driven 9000k since I have had the car and have not seen any reason to visit the dealer. If anything comes up....there is always the warranty. Until then, I will wait until the 15,000k service. :thumbsup:

Call me stupid, too trusting, idiotic....or whatever. But if the manufacturer is prepared to give a 3 year warranty without an oil change until 15000k service...then so be it. I previously had an AUII Futura which also waited until 15000k for its' first service and oil change. I still own the car, it is now just over 3 years old, and has done 106,000k. Still going strong.

I am happy with my car and if it ain't broke...don't fix it.

I guess I will now wait for all of the feedback from those who disagree. :thumbsup:

I think mainpoint of 3000k complimentary service is so they can check out if anything has come loose or any faults have shown themselves( ie you might find a chip in the dash that was there from day one. If you wait till 15000k you might find them say should have been picked up at complimentary service. I`m very easy goin went with my mate to pick it up from new he found faults that I wouldnt have looked for.Trim not long enough minute spots on door trim, scrape under front spoiler, intercooler in front of radiator not completely painted, He really opened my eyes and was pointing these out in front of salesman when I picked up the car .Salesman said make a list all will be done at 3000k service. This is meant to be your chance to get things fixed.I worked in retail and know you will always look after a fresh customer where as somebody who comes in 6 months later is a bit more of a hassle.Ps this isn`t a standard falcon this is a turbo series one it may require a bit more attention.

Good Luck anyway Hope I don`t sound like I`m naggin at 50k+ dont trust to much.

Gee, I felt bad I didnt do an oil change at 1000km as was suggested to me by a performance mechanic I know, but Ill definately be getting one done at 3000Km. If I spend 50k on a car Im going to make sure I give it a good start in life. Naturally the new motor is going to have metal fragments inside which cant be good for it.

The rattle has gone, thankfully. and all seems fine now.

The goddam :thumbsup: frigging :banghead: ^&*&%(& :banghead: rattle is still there. Arrgghhhhhhhhhhhhh.

So back to the dealer I go next week. :angry:

I FEEL BAD FOR ALL THE PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH THEIR T'S

16000K'S AND BARELY A HICCUP

THE LIST SO FAR THAT I WANT FIXED WOULD BE, THE PLASTIC STRIPS ON THE B PILLAR (WARPED), AND THE BLACK TRIM UNDER THE FRONT NUMBER PLATE IS NOT SITTING IN PLACE PROPERLY.

MECHANICALLY THE VEHICLE IS GREAT I HAD ONE SCARE WHEN IT SOUNDED AS IF I HAD DROPPED A WHEEL BEARING AND I SPENT AN HOUR WAITING TO SEE A MECHANIC AT THE DEALER ROUND FROM MY PLACE. :blush:

AFTER THAT WAIT WE WENT FOR A DRIVE AND THEY WERE NO HELP THEY COULDNT FIGURE IT OUT THEN SO ALL THEY SAID WAS "BOOK IT IN" AND THEIR NEXT BOOKING SLOT WAS FOR 3 DAYS TIME. LIKE I WANTED TO DRIVE ROUND FOR 3 DAYS WITH A UTE IN THAT SHAPE.

TOLD THEM NOT TO BOTHER WITH IT AND RANG MY DEALER IN THE CITY. AGAIN NO HELP FROM SERVICE YOU COULDNT EVEN GET ANYONE ON THE PHONE 10 TRIES NO ANSWER (THIS IS THROUGH THE FRONT DESK MIND YOU).

SO I RANG THE SALESMAN (TONY) WHO I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM AND THEN WAITED OVER 20 MINS ON HOLD WHILE HE TRIED TO GET HOLD OF SOMEONE IN THE SERVICE DEPT ( NO RESULT).

AFTER 2 HOURS OF EFFORT BY TONY AND 2 HOURS WAITING BY ME THE SERVICE MANAGER FINALLY BOTHERED TO CALL ME BACK.

AS YOU CAN GUESS BY THIS TIME IM PISSED OFF :cussing: :hrmm:

BUT TONY DID COME THROUGH FOR ME EVENTUALLY AND WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT CAR GOES IN, CAR GOES UP, WHEELS COME OFF, LOOKING LOOKING, WHEELS GO ON, NOISE GONE, NOISE NEVER COMES BACK

THANKS FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENTS FOR MAKING THE AFTER SALES SERVICE OF MY $40 000,00 MOTOR CAR A TRULY MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE :hrmm: HERE IS A LITTLE SUMTHING FOR ALL THE PEOPLE THAT THINK THAT THE CUSTOMERS, WHO KEEP THEM IN JOBS AND IN FOOD AND CLOTHES ARE NOT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO PROVIDE WITH PROMPT RELIABLE AND CURTEOUS SERVICE AND WHO SEEM TO THINK THAT WE THE CUSTOMER HAVE THING BETTER TO DO THAN SIT IN A WAITING ROOM WHILE THE SERVICE STAFF ARE OUT THE BACK JERKING OFF

OK I THINK I HAVE VENTED ENOUGH NOW I THINK I NEED A LITTLE LIE DOWN :hrmm:

LOVE THE CAR HATE THE SERVICE DONT GET ME WRONG I DONT THINK FORD ARE ANY WORSE THAN ANY OTHER CAR SERVICE DEPT I HAVE DEALT WITH

Gents/ Ladies. Im just about to take the ute in for a first service and ive been advised to have the oil and filter changed and also have ford do a wheel alignment on the vehicle eventhough it doesnt require it. Has anyone been advised similar or have other ideas.

Hi and :pics: cougarcatman the 3000k service is just an oil + filter change. No need for a wheel alignment.
