Yeh that xbox would be chipped, you can't do much to the interface on a standard xbox. Looks like it is running xbox media centre or player as the interface if I'm not wrong. You can change the interface / skins that are run on the xbox and theres quite a few application you can put on it too. It's a very nice setup, think I will be looking into doing this myself seeing as I have an xbox just sitting around gathering dust!

Cheers howitzer85. Yes the xbox is modded, it has a 320GB hdd in there full of movies, mp3's....etc. Its setup to run Xbox Media Centre straight away, and I made the XBMC skin myself, took a few days to get right! You then just FTP it through to the xbox into the skin folder I think (the same way you would for upload movies to the xbox).

Do you have a link to a site where I can learn about this XBMC and FTP you speak of???

I wasn't really intending to go down this path but after seeing how neat your system is and how cheap xboxs are now I'm really considering it...

Kieran, if I remember I'll send you through the jpeg. I'm pretty certain its a 320gig hdd, I may be wrong though? maybe its only a 2xx gig one? Either way plenty of bloody space on it. Heres what one of my previous versions looks like, as the camera never takes a decent photo of it

howitzer85, I dont have any links on me right now, but you just need a FTP software on your computer in order to FTP to your xbox. Once you set up the IP address on your xbox, and a username/password then its very easy to FTP to it.

As for the XBMC stuff, the xbox will come with it usually as soon as you modify your xbox.

RSK, I'm not sure what the plug is called exactly as I purchased my cable second hand through another member on here. The plug has about 6 pins in it, one for red, green. blue, vsync, and video enable and audio enable I think. Something like that. So I guess considering it has a seperate colour cable, you can probably modify an xbox cable that uses composite (not RCA) as that splits the three colours up.

I have a wireless controller which fits nice and snugly in the cup holder :) No cables :)

I'm working on fitting the remote receiver somewhere in the front of the car, so I can use the xbox remote control to adjust stuff too.
