that's a great deal too, what's your barganing strategy? I wonder if buying when you did was better then buying now? By the way, does "Subject to GST" mean that GST is included in the price you quoted?

The $ above was excl GST and on road charges. In total it came out ~ $47,500 on road.

I'm no professional buyer - got one quote with all the options I wanted, then liquid papered out the prices and took it to 4 other dealers. One dealer came out way ahead of the rest with out too much toing and froing.

I have read that Ford's strategy may be to discount the run out model deeply to get buyers circulating the dealerships again. This may be particularly to maintain interest in the XR series since I think that the XR Orions are 6-9 months away from release.

Cheers

so do you think they will continue selling the BF XR6 alongside the Orion until they bring them out? or stop the XR's altogether until they relaease them in 6+ months?

Mate, I was in the same position as you. I have had my BFMK2 november build for about 2 months now and couldnt be happier. My reasoning was along the same lines your going on:

- Great price! Got mine for about $34,000 on the road with leather interior and all the options!

- Last build of the BF, therefor in my opinion the best. All the bugs have been ironed out, everything is refined. You are buying the most updated model, which I feel is a good thing ;)

- Lots of updated/aftermarket parts and upgrades available for the MK2, LOADS of information on technical stuff, LOADS of people (such as this forum) with a wealth of knowlege on this vehicle. You will be waiting a while for the same with the orion.

The way I look at it, by the time they have sorted out the bugs that will be present in the orion, say 3 years from release, I will be done with my lease on my current car and ready to upgrade ;)

Hope this helps mate, and good luck! I love my T :spoton:

I think it is certain that the release of the Orion XRs will lag the release of the base models by 3 months or more. Expensive Daewoo has produced two models simultaniously since the VE was released - I don't know if the Ford production line is as capable ..............

I reckon you cant go wrong with a BFMK2. I got mine 3 months ago and love it heaps. by the time im done playing with it the new models will have all the bugs out and ill be into one of those. So yer BFMK2... go for it.

Cheers Adam

sounde like the BF2 is the go, now have to decide on a color, I keep changing my bloody mind every couple of days..

Does anyone know what dealers are like with Fleet pricing? Is it possible to haggle on fleet discount price? or are they pretty tight when it comes to that?

there is generally a little bit of room to move, but get a few quotes anyway, some dealers will just go for it straight up, others will try and hold onto some margin

I was in the same boat as most of you guys. When I started getting quotes for my BF MKII NOV build a few of my cousins and mates were telling me to wait for the new orion to come out. I also came to the same conclusion as most of you that now gives me the piece of mind that I made the right decision. I know for a fact that most dealers will not budge on price as I have a family friend that works at Ethridge Ford in Ringwood. He was telling me that I'd be paying closer to $50,000 with all the extras I currently have in my XR6T which I ended up getting on the road for just a little less then $39,000.

Espcially if you pick up the upgraded NOV Build model you know you are getting a vehicle that has had most of its issues ironed out and also a vehicle that was only built for a limited time compared to all the other models which makes them that little more unique with the different skirting and wheels.
